Here's all the entries which made it to the finals.

Since The Cramp didn't do it, I'm on it like Superglue... or whatever was in the Balancing Bucket... or... um... fart noises?

I'm kinda disappointed that "Possibly Impossible" wasn't in here. I guess there were just too many other good entries.

I'm kinda surprised that both of mine are in here. Given that nothing here has an average below 6-point-something at this point, I think it's safe to say that there are, in fact, a whole lot of good entries. (I don't think I gave anything in this round a vote below 5.)

Yeah, I have to say that these are the best of the lot, for the most part. There was one or two that I liked that didn't make it, and a couple that I didn't like that made it. (I did have to rate one hold below a six...but most of my ratings were higher.)

I finally got to vote. I voted the same as I had originally except I gave the ones I had given [9] nines to [10] tens since I was not among them. I was surprised some make such high scores but then I am often surprised. I guess that is why I can not get high scores myself.

These were the ones I voted high in the first group but they didn't make it to this final round:

Cheap cheap cheap - this is good. I like mazes the way out was a good trick. Too often architects make the mistake of having walls that look like they go some where when they don't [9]

Hide and Seek - this was fun and a good trick - while i didn't know exactly why not to use the token it seem like a good idea. [9]

Possibly impossible - that was fun - I got lazy and looked at hints but I was on the right track before that. secondary stairs land you in right place good trick [9]

Island hopping_300 - this was fun - becoming a water skipper wasn't that hard to find [9]

I played most of the early entries, but stopped at some point because I was getting so much behind. Didn't vote in the first leagues at all, but took the time to play through the finals. Not bad, several of the entries were pretty nice. My personal favourites were "A Cheap Trick Island" for the brilliant design (A real pity it was so obvious. I got it in *literally* 2 seconds from beginning (just luck?). Different placement of walls and other objects could've improved this a little further, I think), and "A Cheap Trick Password" (one of the few entries that weren't very obvious, and still didn't feel unfair)

Yay, Larrymurk, also.
Shouldn't somebody official be doing a poll for the tie between me and Doom? Or I don't mind sharing the 25 points.
I get my 8-timer prize regardless

Favourite rooms: Ranking chambers - very nice little trick, the whole room was set up so you'd do things sequentially and that's what throws you. Extra kudos for being one of the non-scripted rooms, as was...
Traditionality - Neat that this was a well known trick, but it was hidden well. Didn't think to try that.
Cheap Trick Island - Excellent. But agree with Doom's comments; I also completed this too quickly.
Water and Fire - Really liked this one. It's kind of deducible in that you want to get in there one move earlier, but I still had to use the solution.
Color Dilemma - Really liked this. Surprised it didn't do better. Very clever - even though I myself had created a room with the same solution, it didn't even occur to me that it was the solution!

Cheap Trick Password and Patchwork Quilt were nice rooms, but I didn't really see how they were cheap tricks. (Same for a few of the non-finalists)

What didn't you understand about my rooms Techant?

I feel that if someone's going to make a compilation of these rooms the solutions should be removed, so that they pose some kind of challenge. Most of the finalist rooms are deducible and don't rely on random scripting.

Maybe my experience of your hold was spoiled by reading the room description right off the bat. I read it, read the scroll, entered the password and left. So I was kind of expecting that to be the wrong thing to do (that the password was actually something entirely different that fit the criteria), and *that* would have been the cheap trick. As it was, I felt you were being quite open with me the whole time.

I really liked Pinnacle's Abyss, Jacob's room w/ the wraithwing, and Doom's room with the Slayer.

Oh, well, sure, if you do it right, there's nothing cheap to it. :-) I gather that some people, at least, didn't know how to find the password, and perhaps for them the trick was cheaper.

Aw, thanks! I admit I had some head slapping when I uploaded and saw your entry immediately above mine use the same (well, a very close) concept.

I love how the tar was used in yours; using "well, they must be there for *some* reason" logic it was possible to suss out the puzzle.

As far as ranking goes, based on other comments I think some people couldn't figure it out even with the hints. Also, there was still an extra solution in there. (I'll fix it for the theoretical compilation hold.)

I was very fond of Cheap Trick Password, because it nailed me with the biggest "doh!" reaction of the contest. (Jacob, I take it you *do* read the hold descriptions.) Anything that's a meta-trick really does count as cheap.

Congrats to the four prize winners; some exellent entries we have there. Those four were also my favorite entries in this contest, and I'm glad the voters agreed.
