OK, this was pretty enjoyable. I haven't managed to beat the secret room yet, but I enjoyed playing the other holds.

Jacob's entry was excellent. A good use of rock golems as blockers. I think that the opening room may have actually been the hardest, but no complaints there.
Chaco's entry, I thought, did the best job of mimicking door behavior without unpredictable scripting. The whole 'blue door passageway' was very well-done. Puzzles also very fun. Had I voted in this competition, I think I would have given the (slight) edge to Chaco.
VIPCOOL's entry was pretty good. I liked most of the rooms...didn't particularly care for the briar race room, though. It wasn't off-concept, but it felt more like trial and error than solving a puzzle.
Mazer did a good job. I would have preferred a different solution to 1S1W -- the snake-killing part was excellent, but having a builder to make the room solvable kind of disappointed me. The rest of the entry was mixed. 1N1E was excellent, but 1N1W and 1N were just OK.
hartleyhair's entry was very enjoyable -- I realize that the original was unsolvable, but the fixed version seems quite good to me. Not too difficult. My favorite room from here was 1N.
Neather2's entry wasn't very exciting, though. No doors in this entry seemed to equal no required rooms -- I could have just conquered the hold without solving a single room here. (And none of the rooms were much fun -- only 1W was particularly interesting.)
So, if I were rating these as contest entries, I would probably do:
Chaco: 10
Jacob: 9
hartleyhair: 7 (for the beatable version)
VIPCOOL: 6
mazer: 5
Neather2: 3
As a whole, the hold is enjoyable even as a mixed bag. I give it a rating of 7 for fun and 4.5 brains of difficulty.
Josh
