I loved this hold while beta-testing! Glad it finally came out so other people can play it. I give it a 9 rating with 3.5 brains.

You hear the flushing sound? That's the sound of my project now.

Remind me to email it to you, Jacob. At the very least, it'll give you a vague idea of my take on DROD training.

OK, what's with the voice? Is that supposed to be an adolescent Beethro?

Aye. I don't think "Beethro is younger" is made explicit in the hold, though.

My vote is a 8,5 with 4 brains, and still trying to lure my sister into playing the whole thing.

Very neat last room :) And fairly good quality as a whole, although in some places I thought the difficulty might've been a little too hard for the intented audience. We'll see. I can't speak for a beginner who plays this as one of their first holds.

Some copied room ideas were a bit disappointing (Training Grounds: 1S2W comes to mind first from a fairly recent hold of Jacob's, then there are some less noticeable cases), and I think the element introducing could've been smoother in a place or two. Especially the serpents appeared ridiculously suddenly, and in such a large number.

But well, yeah. Not too significant negatives. Above average of Jacob's holds, if you ask me!

Edit: Also, forgot to mention - you can kill the guy in the last room. Intentional? :rolleyes

Yeah, smiting just doesn't bring in that many greckles for a newcomer to the field. That's why many of them turn to hired leg-breaking and assassination for supplementary income.

Beethro never seemed the type, though...

I can't wait to show this to my brothers. Their complaints about KDD amounted too "It's too boring". I think they made it halfway through level 1 that time around.

I hope they don't think that this is boring too.

As a beta-tester, I can affirm that this is, in fact, a high-quality hold, and have given it a 9 with 4 brains.

There's still need for a comprehensive training hold, which this isn't, though it does make a good introduction. Please don't abandon your lovely work so far.

Yeah, wubba's, wraithwings, guards and rattlesnakes don't appear at all, and orthosquares are underutilised IMO.

Mastered. Another excellent Jacob hold, this one much easier than his usual fare.

I give it a 9, and 3 brains of difficulty.

The rooms behind the master wall are entertaining and, in some cases, fairly difficult.

A worthy SMS, in any case.

Josh

I would really have loved to have this when I was just starting out. As it is it's still quite entertaining but so far I've learned most of what it has to say - particularly thanks to beating my head against MetDROID Prime rooms. Which means, of course, that I get to see just how much I really *have* advanced as a DROD player. Which is neat.

Still got a looooong ways to go, though. :)

Wow! This is a truely impressive hold! When I saw the Mucky Museum, I almost had a heart attack! Right now I am trudging through the level slowly, so I can continue on with this hold.

I like how it starts off easy, and keeps steadily increasing the difficulty.

I haven't played much of Jacob's holds before, and after this, I'll be sure to check his other's out, too.

Right now the hold earns 4.5 brains, and 8 overall. Great work! :D

Excellent hold.
Generally simple, but the Mucky Museum, the final room, and the secret level are fairly challenging.
9/10
4 brains.

EDIT: Anyone else think this should come with TCB?

Having conquered (though not yet mastered) this hold, I can safely say: he had it coming.

Lots of fun, this was. I'll have to settle down and rate it at some point.

Excellent hold that gets a perfect 10 from me. Good story and nice rooms and all of this in an easy hold. I'm currently stuck on The Level of Challenges 2S, but enjoying every minute.

Another excellent hold Jacob.

Ummm... yes, there is. All the way through.

Say, you wouldn't be running version 2.0.14? Your problem ("Fixed a speech voice loss bug during hold import in 2.0.14.") would be exactly why there was a 2.0.14.1 ... :?

If that's the case - update to 2.0.15, export your player, delete the hold, re-download it and re-import your player... :/

np: B.Fleischmann - Melancholie (Melancholie/Sendestraße)

Cheers! :D

I'd mod you up in return, but I'm currently one single modpoint short of doing that... I'll come back to it... Fixed. :)

np: Gescom - Puzl (Sounds Of The Machines Our Parents Used)

I wouldn't call this a beginner hold either. But all the better for me!

Very fun and thorough hold. Nice job Jacob. Oh, and that sword-naming song is a classic. I think there should be at least one song/hymn or whathaveya in every SMS from now on. No pressure Erik :lol

If you count the song Denfry sang in Beethro's Teacher, there has been one in all but The Choice. So it has been going on for a while.
