This is a re-cap on some of the things described in this thread:
1. Use correct grammar and spelling. This isn't a text message forum.
2. Think about what you say before you say it. Or post it for that matter. Don't just go blabbing on about things that you can't even begin to describe why a few minutes later.
3. Mod Points. Mod points are just a cool system that the LS system installed. They're kind of important, but they don't really matter in the long run.
4. Don't Complain. It's not really great to complain. Most of the time, it won't get us anywhere, and you'll end up losing rank points! Especially don't complain about why you lost a rank point. Why? It wasts forum space and ends up making you lose even more rank points.
5. Don't Spam. This is a forum to talk about Caravel Industries. Admit it, we don't want the junk you're trying to make money off of. Not only that it's wrong, but you'll also get banned for doing so.
6. Don't intentionally annoy people. There are few ways I can explain this more. Why shouldn't you do it? One, it wastes server space. Two, it intentionally hurts people. (Which we don't want.) Three, you'll probably come out looking like a jerk, and not a lot of people will like you anymore.
7. Don't bump if not necessary. This is a new one. It's good to see people responding to stuff that is good to re think about. But, don't always do that. Not all threads must be responded to.
8. No sock puppet accounts. This means, don't make an account just so you can post in a thread, get a laugh or two, leave forever and not talk about the important stuff.
9. Don't Overuse bad language. The title of this says enough, don't add too many bad words to a post. Most of the time, it's going to hurt people who hate bad words, or who was being bad-worded to.
10. Don't Overuse smilies. Yes, yes, we know how much you love those smilies and color tags, just don't use these too much. They can be used to show emphasis, but it's going to over that cliff if you overuse it!
11. Have fun. This forum was created so you people could have fun sharing your experiences. Erik wanted us to feel intrigued when we were on his forum, so we should do that.

That is all for forum etiquette for now. You can post a comment if you want.

Additional Forum Etiquette
I quite like the way he writes it as if those were additional. I really hope he means standard.

But he does seem to have actually learned something. Now hopefully he can use them in the future.

Banjooie - to his credit, English is a difficult language and by phonetically spelling the word that way, simply pronouncing the word can indicate what he means. I don't think it's that detrimental.

And yes, I do think Sihmpuhl Englihsh makes more sense than regular English does.

This is a very good list. It's definitely not all-encompassing, but it shows what comprises behavior that is acceptable on this forum - well-natured, intelligent discussion.

Actually, intension is a word in the English language. And it does make sense to do something intensionally (e.g. you can define a set of things intensionally).

How you'd annoy someone intensionally is anyone's guess.

So, yeah, he probably did mean "intentionally".
I'm just being pedantic for the hell of it.

Well, the problem is fixed now. It reads "Intentionally" rather then "Intensionally". At first I didn't see the difference, but I do.

Comments? Or maybe some more I can add to the list?

Also, no sock-puppet accounts. Which is already a rule, but can't hurt to repeat it.

3. Use caution in bad language. Only the two lightest words may be used sparingly. Those words are, Da- He-. Other things like the A word, B word (both), S and F words are not allowed. At least try.
They're not allowed? Really? I do believe the policy espoused in the FAQ is "use common sense". I'm pretty sure you pulled "not allowed" out of your ass own morality.
5. Don't Complain. It's not really great to complain. Most of the time, it won't get us anywhere, and you'll end up losing rank points! Especially don't complain about why you lost a rank point. Why? It wasts forum space and ends up making you lose even more rank points.
Actually, this falls under thinking about things before you do them. I really wouldn't go so far as to just say no. It is sometimes politer to phrase it as "what'd I do?".

Well, at least try. I'd normally disapprove of wrong language but I wouldn't kill myself to prove a point. You *can* use that kind of language, but *try* not to. Just prove that point, I saw the S word used once.

I'd add something about not overquoting, as usually only the last piece of conversation is relevant, and the rest can be removed, but I'm afraid people would take this advice in wrong context and try to add some extra meaning to it on the grounds that it's coming from me, so I won't.

Yep. I feel that the only need to ask about a downmod is to clarify what you did wrong if you can't figure it out yourself, so that you know to avoid it in the future.

In fact, all you really need to do is want to annoy someone. Then, lo and behold, "to annoy someone" can't be interpreted extensionally, because it's the complement of the intensional verb "want", and therefore one must consider the set of all possble worlds in which someone is annoyed, which is to say that you need an intensional denotation, and voila! you've annoyed someone intensionally.

Er. Sorry. It's just that this is, you know, what I do for a living. My dissertation contains about a hundred instances of "intension" or some form thereof (intensionally, intensionalize, intensionalization, etc.).

Nice one. I knew someone would be able to do it (I didn't know how, though). I actually think I understood that too. Have a point.
