Next week, the guys over at the Video Games Hot Dog podcast ( http://videogameshotdog.com/) are going to review DROD! It sounds like they're going to play JtRH since it's more beginner-friendly, and because one of the guys has played it and recommended it to the others.

Not what I'd call an in-depth analysis.

Here's what you can learn from video hotdog.

* It's more fun than doing everyone else's taxes.

* It's difficult if you don't realize you can move diagonally.

* The art is good, if you don't know how to draw.

* It's not what you'd call a videogame.

* It may not be a thing you like, but it is a good thing.

I guess it's always gonna be a niche game, just not KOL hotdog's niche.

They are totally right about JtRH level 1 having too many long corridors, and levels 1 and 2 having some rooms where there are more roaches than are really needed for the puzzles. The game really picks up in late level 2 and Third Level 2N2W, but first impressions are always the strongest.
