You might want to update again. You should add Voids 3.0 to 3.0 Styles.

Although, I do wish that we had a template for Styles in TCB. I think that your link to the GeneralTiles for JtRH eventually has a TCB version, posted by silver. It's a shame that nobody extended the Style sheet to TCB yet.

Guess what?

You can use Voids 3.0 *as* a template! And you don't even have to guess what the obstacles are because I actually made terrible versions of them instead of making amazingly detailed crate-boxes!

In other words, don't let the lack of an Official Caravel Template stop you from expressing your artistic creativity.

Sliiiight problem with that . . . when other people download Voids 3.0, it is in DROD Media File format.
Oh, yeah, and, by the way, I think the .dmf you provided is missing your obstacles sheet; I have City obstacles.

Hey, that's wierd! How can I have City stuff in a non-City style? I mean, when no replacement tile is provided to something, it's not like this is a mod with a .tim, or something that just defaults to City; it's a whole style separate from City!
Either that, or it is a mod with a .tim, and the game can turn that into .dmf with defaults to City. Actually, that sounds reasonable.

Most of the City style was moved into GeneralTiles in DROD 3.0. This is both to make creating new styles easier and to make adding new obstacles in the DROD engine more upwards compatible.

The idea is if you provide a style which has most of the regular tiles, but not all of the obstacles, it will work and will just use the GeneralTiles (that is to say, City) versions of the obstacles and everything will still work. (As it was, more and more obstacles made it harder and harder just to get a working style mod.)

Also, if in DROD 3.7 (or whatever) the engine adds a new obstacle type, the default (City) tiles for them can be added to the GeneralTiles so that all the already existing new styles continue to work. (People may want to eventually update them to have new customized thematic obstacles, but until then, the style is still workable.)

I have no idea if this is the best place to put this, but I've got to put it somewhere. If it wants its own thread, let me know, I'll put it there instead.

You know when you're painting a room and you go to the hardware store and they expect you to choose whether you wanted Desert Dreams or Sandstorm and you have no idea what color either one is but the latter sounds right and you get it home and it turns out it's not tan at all but a kind of off-green? Right. And you know how sometimes that happens in DROD?

Attached to this post are (I believe all) of the colors that appear in a monsterless room on the minimap. (For other floor colors--uncleared room, just-cleared room, unrequired room, and so forth--see coppro's post below mine.)

If you're the sort of person who likes putting art on your minimaps, or if like me you've been looking at Gigantic Jewel Lost and have this sudden deep inferiority complex and you wish you were that sort of person, this may help. Very possibly you'll want to open up your favorite drawing program and put these colors in, which is why I've included the RGB values both in the image and in the secreted-for-length block below, which also has the image in it.

Builder stations are the same colors of bombs, and you forgot all the floor colors:

- 229,229,229 a clear room, unless you just cleared it
- 255,200,200 a required room in the editor
- 200,255,200 a secret non-required room in the editor
- 255,0,0 a required unclear room
- 0,255,0 a room you just cleared
- 255,0,255 an unrequired room

Hot tiles and oremites go to 128,255,128 when the room has just been cleared.

And if the room is darkened (for instance on the Restore screen), various wall features lose their colors.

I actually deliberately didn't include the variations on floor color, because I wanted to just cover the "this room has been cleared" case, that being, presumably, the ultimate state of the room on the minimap. Of course, in doing so, I forgot that the floor color would look different in the editor. My post above (and the image attached to it) have been updated to reflect coppro's correction.

I had an idea to post a general compilation of answers to frequently posted questions on the development board. Its main purpose would be to prevent the doubling up of certain topics, such as creating styles. Kwakstur summed it up very nicely in this post. I'd probably post the list in my second post in the thread, properly crediting everyone who wrote the information down in the first place.

This is all towards the purpose of making the forum more navigable and organised. Should I do it?
