Hey everybody!
Ive been developing a puzzle hold all secretly and for the first time, i have made an Architects Edition hold!
All the levels are finished and everything i need is some beta testers! All beta testers, please use DROD Architects Edition when testing (even though this hold is available with TCB!). You can download AE here.Everybody who tests it will be rewarded with credits in the end of the hold! If you want to test the hold, download the file that is attached to this message! Remember, the newest update of the hold will always be attached to this message!

I've played until level 3 4S 1W. It's impossible I'm afraid, since orb desn't open yellow door. :no since hold isn't anyone-edit, I can't view the rest of it in editor.

Anyway, nice first hold you have here(so far)! The design of rooms reminded me of KDD, which isn't a bad thing for sure.

The "backtracking issues" has been fixed, baby! :) Many of the other problems has been fixed too! V4 IS IN DA HOUSE :w00t !
Though in the goblin training room i didnt fix a new checkpoint...sorry

I've played through level 5... and stairs of it took me to the start of level 5 again :weep I suggest you should check all the stairs before uploading next version.

Level 1 2S have a very unecesarry backtracking issue. Please make it possible to open the door at 3,16 after you have entered 3S. This is because there is an apparent secret in the first room. In level 5 2S the secret walls are quite unecesarry. I also finds it a bit... cheaty to use secret walls in this way, but some respecte architects have already done so, so you don't have to care about my opinion :)

There are still (at least) 2 backtracking problems in here to block promotion. We don't care about most of the problems, but backtracking stuff means people have to restore the hold.

L2 1S has a backtracking problem, make sure the room is possble to complete from all entrances. (that means that the green goblin has to be killed from all entrances)

L4 1S1E has a problem too. If you finished the room and you haven't cleared 1S before, then you can get stuck. You can stop this by deleting the blue doors in L4 1N, or make it possible to go back to L4 1S.

And now I'm taking a break.

(And you need better betatesters. :P)

One of the admins (Tim) has just replied to this thread and pointed out multiple problems preventing the hold from being promoted to Holds.

I'd also suggest you use the opportunity to look through the hold again - there are multiple spelling mistakes (e.g. opposite)
and since there's no blue door in Level 2, there's no reason to do 1S1E or 1S1W. There are a few more suggestions I could make given time, but you've rushed ahead without giving a great deal of time for other beta-testers to get involved.

I'm not trying to be harsh, just constructive. It's good to see new architects making holds, and especially nice to see easy, old-school AE ones too. This would be a good hold for a beginner to play.

It's okay if you're hasty. I'm hasty as well, and incredibly busy. The two backtracking problems I found them just by looking at it, and I haven't checked the hold properly yet. I think your hold is good enough to deserve a proper look at it.

On the other hand, I'd like to give a 24 hours delay just in case other people want to comment on this hold. There are some incredibly interesting people on the forum lately who complain that they must comment on the hold before it is released and complain that they didn't have the chance before. (Not that they ever really do it, but now they can't complain we haven't warned them either. ;))

Hmm. Not much to be said that hasn't already been said, really - presentation doesn't really apply to AE holds, and unintended solutions don't really apply to hack'n'slash holds (although I'd note that the level 2 rooms with roach hordes in 2-wide corridors have more to do with holding down ctrl-whatever than practicing sword techniques). I'm probably not really the intended audience of this hold anyway.

As said earlier, spelling and grammar in the scrolls should be rechecked, and blue doors should be added at the end of non-linear levels.

Edit: Checkpoints! Always useful. In particular, L4:2E could use one or more.

I do rather like this hold, i just feel that it should be a wee bit longer. I honestly completed it, every room (excluding the goblin room, i got lazy) in less than half an hour.

on L3;3S, i do like the feel, but adding a few more enemies wouldnt hurt in the least, especially compared to some of the other more hack and slash rooms you've got.

Dairmoss, this hold has already been published on the Holds Board. That is its final version. The architect can no longer make changes to a hold that is already published.
