I just thought - wouldn't a Slayer Gate be cool? It would be purple, and would only open when all Slayers in a room are killed.

Um.. well, that thread was about a Gate that only opened when all the tar in a LEVEL was destroyed. This would only be for one room. After all, we have tar gates; tar always comes back to a level; it's exactly the same with Slayers.

Sorry, you're right. I missed the point. Anyways, I don't think we need a slayer gate. It would be nice, but it can be quickly done with scripting.

Yes, if there are other monsters in the room - Wait for Entity and Wait While Entity take the argument "Slayer". :)

Well - Green doors aren't necessary; they could be done with scripting too. They're there to make the game easier and to make it look nicer. I just thought it would be rather cool to have a nice, purple door for Slayers...

Want a good, purple and shiny door for a Slayer door? Here's what I made :




How to use it:

Make an NPC with the first graphics, the door, with a Slayer door scripting. Put under it a image floor with the second image, dropped door. When the Slayers are killed, the NPC should disappear, revealing the dropped purple door under it. Simple and effective.

Up until briar hits it. ^_^

Purple Sister Gates would have equal problems.

But so long as you know the limits of scripting things like this, it's a good enough workaround in the meantime.

Open up a character. Then click on 'Characters'. Write something like 'Slayer door' under New character name, and click on 'Add character'. Then click on the character, and click on Brain. Click 'Get custom tiles' and import the image.

Then 'Okay', 'Okay', and scroll down on the side until you see the character. Click on it, and add the following lines of script:

Imperative 1
Wait while entity Slayer 0,0,37,31
Disappear

You can copy this script in by selecting it and copying it, then in the character window pressing 'Shift-B'. Otherwise, Imperative 1 is invulnerable.

And @Jason, the big flaw there is that you can't step over an NPC. Putting custom floor under a custom NPC is how I do it, too.
