Whenever I try to load TCB 3.1, the game crashes and exits. I'm trying to get 3.0 back, but it says I reached my limits on the number of times I asked the file...

I'm sorry. I warned you not to apply the patch unless you know how to backup your data. What else can I say...

Does it give any errors? Clearly there's a problem here... the exact text on the error is important. (Both on 3.1 and 3.0)

Errr... unless I'm reading the above wrong I think he forgot to backup the actual TCB 3.0 installer (why anyone would delete it once it's downloaded I can't begin to fathom, but meh...) - maybe you could give him another download opportunity?

It's possible that the limit is there to prevent people from buying one copy, and then giving their user name, password, and email address to however many people they want, and having all of them download it.

Not that that makes much sense. Should someone want to distribute DROD in a manner less than legal, they could always just put it up on bittorrent or LimeWire or any of those other p2p sharing doodads.

Because if it's something I paid for (that's the important part) I would make sure it doesn't get lost? Do you always throw your install discs into the dumper after you installed things? Or do you buy MP3 files online and not make damn sure they won't go the way of the Dodo if your hard drive decides to?

I always OPEN the installer files: that's why.

The error: drod.exe has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is avaible.

Ah, I do see your point. Truth be told, I never buy much of anything online (certainly not MP3s; I'm not actually all that into music), and don't really buy software very often, either. I do download things like iTunes, Opera, Audacity: i.e., things for which I'm not paying. So I have neither install discs nor online file purchases; DROD may, in fact, be the only piecce of software I've bought since, er, a long time, not counting things that came preinstalled on the laptop.

So that important part--the "I paid for" part--isn't something that particularly occurs to me. Generally speaking, if I downloaded it, I can download it again. Your point does make sense.

I actually saw JtRH & KDD on a pirate site the other day.
(Which is not to say I frequent those; I was searching for the Google forum search, with Google.)

Yeah, just the program itself. I've bought two songs, ever, from the iTunes store (and one was kind of a mistake, since I bought it based on the title, which had a typo in the relevant word).

Suggestion: PM Schik to get a specific fix worked out, in the meanwhile, IIRC, you can still select the styles, just not use them.
