Automating bar clicks will not be tolerated - it simply adds load to the server, and spoils what should be just a fun little diversion.

I've disabled bar clicks for the automated agent that was detected. No rank points yet, but I've received a roach and a tar baby. Oddly, if you go to the Tar Goodies tab in your profile, there's a button labeled Save below the actual goodies. If you click it, it displays the message "You rearrange your goodies, and nothing seems to happen.".

Yet another one: (I didn't know DROD is this popular.)




Bar facts:
JtRH bar took 19 days from 50% to 57%
TCB has taken only 10 days from 50% to 57%

Going a lot faster so far! And we're comparing that to the faster half of JtRH bar progress. (It went fast in the beginning but started to slow down after 75%.)

I've got 4 goodies: An evil eye, a roach, a seep and a spider. I'm not exactly an insesent bar-clicker, though, so I assumed that other people had many more. The times that I've gotten goodies have been the first click that I've done in a while (usually the first click of the first visit of the day). If I then click a whole bunch more, I've never gotten any more goodies. So I assumed the distribution system worked something along those lines. Perhaps one goody for every time the bar actually updates, or something like that.

The bar has been giving rank/mod point prizes at about the same rate the whole time (except for when the site was moving). The bar goodies are also about the same rate...I think it was a bit slower when it first started but that only lasted a day before Schik increased the release rate. So any reduction in frequency per person is probably related to the number of people trying for goodies, and not any intentional "nerfing" on our part.

Is that to say that for each click, there's an x% chance of getting a goody, and a y% chance of getting rank points? If that's the case, it doesn't seem like adding more people trying for goodies/rank points would affect the frequency per person.

Okay, a bit more information on the Bar Goodies tab. I just now found out that if you have more than one goodie, you can click and drag them, thus rearranging them. And if you click save, the forum saves your arrangement. And it can remember the arrangement the next time you visit the tab.

What in the name of the 29 hells of Dai-Zan?

I've just been thinking, and something is definitely very wrong here...

If a line of code is generated for each click of the bar (it has to be for the counter to be correct, whether that particular message is displayed or not) and clicking the bar does not make it get any closer to 100%, and the bar is linked to progress on TCB, can we logically infer that the bar will never reach 100%? Or is TCB going to have infinite lines of code before the bar reaches 100%?
