http://thedaian.dreamhosters.com/sa/Apathetic%20(demo).zip - This seems to be the actual link; I don't know why it appears differently in the SA thread.

EDIT: Also, the %20 seems to be the most likely culprit for causing the link to not be highlighted properly, though I can't say why that would precisely be other than that the character it represents, a space, seems to be totally non-standard for URLs (the reason for that probably has to do with the way stuff was set up way back when computers weren't as powerful as they are now, but I don't know the specifics of that like I do the reason that DOS doesn't like filenames bigger than eight or so characters).

No, it would be the brace there in the middle of the name. The %20 is pretty standard and can be handled just fine.

Since nobody will remember what % numbers are for what symbols, why not put the entire url in a [ url=PUT URL HERE ]NAME FOR LINK[ /url ]? This way, the auto-hyperlinker won't stop at the first punctuation letter, because the hyperlink will be forced.

But, hey, what is "on-topic" on a thread that ideally wouldn't have discussion?

And, by the way, I use the term "nobody" loosely. Obviously, at least someone here already knew.

Because [url=http://thedaian.dreamhosters.com/sa/Apathetic%20(demo).zip]it doesn't work. :) (Do a Quote Reply -- both tags are in the source.)
But, hey, what is "on-topic" on a thread that ideally wouldn't have discussion?
I think Maurog's point is that we're all looking at a particular link rather closely (the link itself for once, not where it points). :)

Funnily enough, parentheses are actually legal characters in a link without escaping (RFC 2396, section 2.3), so tForum is being more aggressive than it should about determining what is and isn't a valid link.

Normally, I wouldn't put a link to a front page SA article, but this is just amazing.

That's a weird little story. If I had to guess what the heck it was talking about, maybe the rise of Stalinism in Russia? (The fruit is the Russian government right after the revolution, Stalin cuts off a large chunk of it, then grows it and makes it red, etc.)

Ooh, a link, um, not sure if this has been posted here before, but if you can explain every joke in this song it should be enough to qualify you for a masters degree in mathmatics.

Finite Simple Group is the best, but visit www.kleinfour.com and look at some of their other songs. Their rendition of 12 days of Christmas is quite entertaining (although less nerdy).

I don't like the writer of that, he has some kind of irrational hatred of gamers who don't play
THE ONE TRUE GAME THAT IS D&D NOT INCLUDING 3.5 BUT 3.0 IS KINDA OKAY 4.0 WILL SUCK THOUGH I ONLY PLAY 2.0 AND 1.0 PEOPLE WHO DONT USE THAC0 ARE STUPID AND DONT APPRECIATE ITS BEAUTY

I hate people like that, and in roleplaying groups you just kinda meet a lot of 'em.

Yes - see Zonhin's Tutorial and Zonhin's Tutorial 3.0.

One could argue those aren't "real puzzle holds" but I think that would be somewhat difficult.

In that case, zonhin, have you ever ran across unintended solutions? It can be surprising to see how easily you can become blindsided into thinking that the player will play 'the one true way'. And AFAIK, everyone does it.

1: I don't mind that he tends to put his player through a certain path in his games, it's more his disdain for games that aren't D&D 2nd edition or lower, (any other stupidly complicated and uncohesive RPG rules system can work.) I know it's not really the point of the article, but he's kind of an elitist, and that really annoys me.

2: I would make more holds if the computer that I have DROD on didn't crap out and fail on me, and then I accedently deleted the E-mail it came in.

3: Mattcrampy I thought I was the only one who did it.
