Right now I'm trying to negotiate use of TCB with Vista, but it won't listen. So instead, I have to get my architecture fix in JtRH. I was just wondering if anybody has any general tips using the pantheon (it seems so small!) of elements in JtRH.

Remember that restrictions can sometimes bring focus.

For example, you still have serpents and rattlesnakes, which are two monsters full of puzzle potential. It's also very possible to use roaches, bombs, and mimics for interesting ideas.

The forum has definitely shown that mud and tar have enormous puzzle potential. :)

The most important tip I can offer is that accepting a restriction and working within it can produce results.

Any good examples of a restriction?

I worked on that you know, but we never got around to making many restrictions. ;)

If you're interested? Look at the Limited Space III contest. That's a good example of both limited space and limited elements. All the entries (while they might be in JtRH or TCB), only use Architect's Edition elements. And they appear in a small room.
