Granted, you hear a ring at the doorbell, and when you go to answer it, a man tells you you have won a glass tank that is full of gasoline. He says that he will make sure it stays full, but claims no responsibility for the horrible stench from the evaporation of the gas.

Granted. Now a bunch of guys who barely know the rules of chess (yours truly included) come along, wreak havoc wit your game, and otherwise do their best to make your life miserable. You end up going half-barmy and stop playing chess, preferring the quieter charms of Solitaire.
