It's time for more Smitemasters' Selection Voice Auditions!
The upcoming hold has a lot of dialogue and people in it, since it's intended to flesh out the story a bit more and prepare us for DROD: The Second Sky. So there's going to be a plot! Beethro has finally reached the City again and is trying to learn more about the Grand Event and what he can do about it.
Since there are still some details to keep secret, I'm only going to post some characters and some lines, and the Caravel Team and I will be shoulder-tapping people in a similar manner as happened for previous SmSs.
This post contains some sample lines to give you all something to work with. Feel free to audition for one or multiple characters.
This topic header has some tips by mrimer about the kind of voice recordings we're after.

Are you sure? Last time I went to that cheese shop all the way East of here it was destroyed.
There was a goblin settlement there instead.
Gossiper 1:
Purely a mistake!
You can trust me this time.
Due to First Slayer's recent illegal activities,
the Empire is now critically short of bombs.
Production can't keep up with demand anymore
without violating safety standards.
Gossiper 3:
There's no shortage!
A shipment arrived at the dock just a production cycle ago.
Follow me, I'll point at the automobile pallets that have them.

The Personnel Office told me that you were a Chemist.
Chemist:
Yes, or I used to be.
They don't want Chemists anymore.
Now they want Material Converters and Pharmacists and Gene Arrangers
and Neurosynthesists and Neobiologists and whatnot.
Beethro:
But you still know your Chemistry, right?
So if I got you some materials and a lab,
you could brew me up some leaf juice, right?
Chemist:
Technically yes, but you'd be using a sledgehammer
to push in a thumbtack.
Beethro:
Well, yeah. But could you genetic engineer me up some office workers?
I got a lotta paperwork I got to submit to the Director.
Chemist:
That's a task much more worthwhile to pursue.
We'll have to get in a queue to borrow the Holding Vats,
but I can do as you ask, yes.
Maybe you should tell me what you want with the Director first, though.

It occurred to me that someone might hear my chemist recording and think I was hesitating with the script, but I was actually doing that on purpose to make him sound like he was trying to think of everything. Oh, and should you choose me (unlikely, but possible) you can tell me to use another voice for the character, e.g. have me use my aumtlich voice for the slayer.
I just said I was auditioning for Beethro (I just saw the link) and as it turns out, the whole thing's over and it was all in 2008, before I even joined the forum! SO EMBARRASSING!!!
