Saucerors tend to have it easiest at endgame, so I'd go Sauceror.

(That, and they make delicious, delicious reagant potions. You probably want to be able to double your stats temporarily later on.)

I forget: how do you make Sticky Pants again? I've been combining Spider Webs a whole lot, but to no avail.

EDIT:

Reading back, I see I need a Pants Kit. *phew*

Ah. Basic meat pants. I was just trying to do a Pants Kit with a RRS spider web.

the head was fairly easy. I'm convinced that the body has *something* to do with the marx brothers. Mainly because the familiar equipment is "Gummo" and it's for the "marx brothers"...so somehow I think that translates into code for various items ingame.

I would like to take the opportunity to say that I am now a Level 4 Sauceror (Sage Sage) and have applied to the Guild.

Does anyone know what the point of the Hidden Temple in the Distant Woods might be? All I can see is that I can gain/lose Muscle/Magical-type stats and lose HP. No opponents, even :|

It's stat gains. They scale upwards with you to some extent, to the point where you can gain 50 stat points an adventure.

It's just got risks, now.

Of course, you can't get meat by doing this. I suggest adventuring in the Cobb's Knob Treasury once you're strong enough to handle the Elite Guards. I found I was able to do this a little after slaying the Boss Bat, but then again, I chose a Moxie class rather than a Mysticality class, so it was probably easier for me.

I usually choose "agile" or "sneaky" classes in RPGs - it doesn't matter how long it takes you to kill a monster if it can't hit you.

ok mmg math question. Here is my system:
I am assuming that the odds of winning at the MMG are 50-50.

bet 5k. if you win, bet 5k again. if you lose, triple your bet. Once you win the continually tripled bet, go back to betting 5k.

now, working this out to a max bet of 1215k, you get a profit of X if you win at Y:
5k @ 5k
10k @ 15k
25k @ 45k
135k @ 70k
245k @ 405k
610k @ 1215k

if you bet 5k a total of 64 times (which means you could bet 1215k several times within those 64 times), you will win the X bet Y number of times:
5k, 32
15k, 16
45k, 8
135k, 4
405k, 2
1215k, 1

out of all that profit you will lose the 1215k bet once. losing the other bets doesn't matter, as you make your meat back right away. So, losing the 1215k bet makes you lose a TOTAL of 1820k (because you would have lost the 5, 15, 45, 135, and 405k bets as well). However, you will gain a total of 1900k if you win everything I laid out.

Obviously this will only work out if you do it a huge number of times, but...is the math accurate, or am I forgetting something about the odds of something happening (ie, odds of a coin landing heads 6 times in a row).

First off, you reversed the order of the 70/135 line, but I think that was just a typo. Your math error seems to be that you miscalculated the profit if you win at the 405 level. That should be a 205 profit, not a 245 profit. You were off by 40, and since winning at that level is a 2/64 probability, that accounts for the 80 meat difference in your figures. After accounting for that, you end up with 1900 on either side, balancing out perfectly, just like any game should where you're betting even money on a 50/50 proposition. However, according to the description (I've never actually played the mmg) the house takes a percentage, so you're not even breaking even over the long run no matter what kind of system you are using.

Well, you've already completed your training with the Toot Oriole, haven't you?

I suggest adventuring in the Spooky Forest to get your Mysticality up. Save up for an E-Z cook oven and later you can cook foods for yourself, and you'll actually have more cooking options, since you're a Chef-Mage. Eating cooked foods that you've prepared gives you more Adventures and stats.

That's a lie, actually, saucerors can't produce any special foods on their own--they produce awesome foods with dry noodles, but that requires the Pastamastery skill to use.

You can, however, produce Reagant Potions, which are delicious for fighting bosses.

Edit: Okay, there is /one/ food that Saucerors can make on their own, but you wouldn't want to drink it.

Huh. You're right. So much for trying to make a quick buck off of some poor sap at the MMG. :D

which actually brings to mind this: I lost 6mil there.
and this: I have a program to help ppl who bet at the mmg in my display case.

ironic.

I've found my new strategy is to stop playing as soon as I can afford a rare. Like..petrified time or a Mr. A. Buy that, stop playing until I raise more Meat.

In that way, I do continually gain goods, and can't gamble it all away.

And that's why I have a custom avatar once I'm done this Hardcore run! Woo!

I'm playing this game for almost two weeks I think and I want to join the Smitemaster's Guild. I don't post very often in this forum, but I've conquered JtRH, KDD, and numerous other holds so I'm an experienced smitemaster, and I think this is certainly a reason to trust me! I'm a level 7 Pastamancer at the moment with the name "ekeinos". (786156)
