Another question, when SmS's come out with new features and elements and such, will a patch be made for the demo that will allow them to use the elements as well? Or will they not be able to play holds with them?

Caravel doesn't have the option of the latter - if they didn't someone would just take the source code and release it themselves (although those versions wouldn't have CaravelNet).b

I'm 99.9% sure that the demo uses the same binary as the full version. the difference is entirely in how much initial content ships with the .dat files.

Not quite. There are a few other differences like the default data directory (so that you can have both installed if you want). And does the demo support CaravelNet?

But the demo should be updated with the new features. DROD 2.0 bugfix releases always came for demo and full versions at about the same time. New binary releases for added elements or other features can easily be done the same way. And nobody really wants to make things so that the demo is incapable of importing certain holds.

The demo does support CaravelNet; since CaravelNet is supposed to be a separate service, it would be very odd if the demo was not CaravelNet-enabled.

We're sure going to try. Well, except for BSD, Jamie has been absent.

Game on,

Yes, as Neil says, I've not been around (anywhere) the last year or so, but I still intend on producing the BSD version - I've not disappeared entirely!

Got your email. Welcome back, Jamie! Good luck in the future. I'll write more later.

So... what're the 3 new ways to interact with evil eyes? I only know about mirrors, so unless there're two more in the last few levels...

Mirrors and speed potions are two. I've never really figured out what the third was supposed to be - I think I asked Erik back in the day, but if I did I forgot the answer - possibly the ability to have a player role that won't activate the eyes before the first kill. Or maybe pressure plates, though that's so general I doubt it.

I guess the tokens that make their lines of sight visible is another one...

np: David Sylvian - Riverman (Everything And Nothing)

Just how far are you? You may have already seen them and not noticed. Also, I'd say there are actually 4 new interactions, not the three originally stated. There's one way to better plan how to face them, two ways to avoid their notice, and mirrors (which can both help and hurt in evading them).

EDIT: I see people got ahead of me. Yeah, the fours I'd count are mirrors, speed potions, vision tokens, and the player role 'stealth' thing.

Sorry to double post, but I came up with a fifth new eye interaction for TCB. Not that I expect this one to be used too often. But here's a room showing it, thats hopefully at least slightly interesting. (Though the new interaction itself should be very very obvious.)

Okay, so what is Beef Row's (tl;dd)?
I didn't count anything but mirrors because none of those really are interacting with the eyes.
