Hey, I might be the first person to realise this, so I'll post it.

If you click the bar when you're logged out, the Bar tells you that only registered users can click the bar.

Not surprising of course, but what is surprising is that the Bar tells you this, instead of merely doing nothing.

That has been noticed before, but I can't find links. Sometimes I forget I wasn't logged in, and I clicked expecting to strike gold... and... "Only registered users can click this bar!" AHHH!

Well, you have to bar in mind that still about 6 hours until Christmas in basement time. Also, I'm sure that the whole team has been busy with holiday stuff, so they've barley had any time to update any site code.

The basement has its own timezone. They just rent it to...whoever they actually rent it to. (I'm too lazy to check).

Okay, I have been reading some earlier posts here (where the bar was 64% and only one person was equipped to solve the riddle of the bar). There's posts of people getting awakened evil eyes, roaches, and the like, but all I ever got was a tar baby. What do I have to do to get something else? Just click and hope?

The only real thing you need to know is that the bar chooses a random time to give out a goodie, and the next clicker gets it. So theres no point in clicking lots of times in a row; just click every time you visit the site and you'll get them eventually.

Yep, just keep clicking. You'll get better results by clicking periodically while you're awake, rather than just clicking heaps of times at once -- a bar goody comes up for grabs at a particular time and the first person to click after that (who needs one) gets it.

The tarbaby that appears next to the bar sometimes isn't part of the riddle; you're looking for the popup dialog to say that you found something. Once you've found some, they'll appear in the Bar Goodies tab of your profile (link at the top).

Oh, the painful irony. I read the two posts after mine, decided to visit the bar and click once, and it says something around the lines of:


You found something moving under a rock. You pick up the rock and find:

*1 Spider


That is just painful irony.

EDIT: I think I know why. I clicked it right at 5 o'clock.
But then again, one of those posts said the time chosen is random. Hm.

Because they appear after random times, you are more likely to get a goodie on your first click, when it is probably that there has been a big gap between your click and the last click.
