Also, because you need clockwork stuff, you can't get it unless you've ascended and have a Moxie sign (so you can access the Gnomish Gnomads).

Or, of course, you could spend a whole lot of meat.

You can enter both. but, to enter the KoL one, you must be on the KoL forums. To enter the DROD one, you must be on the DROD forums. :)

The NPZR is not speed ascension material.

It'll make the Naughty Sorceress fight /easier/. That's about it. If you're playing as a moxie class, it'll make ALL boss fights easier.

I don't know about IRC channels. The in-game chat is usually useful enough for me.

It's working for me. I've been fooling around with Slayer the NPZR for the past few days. They actually aren't THAT expensive. You just have to be sure you don't use certain items.

holy carp. a lot has been added to KoL since I played a couple/few years ago.

nevertheless, I just discovered I can still log in to my happy fun level 14 pastamancer (silverkitty)

my guild, though, has sorta become inactive (I was in a "Tale in the Desert" guild). Perhaps I could join the DROD one, instead?

It's been years since I've done the DROD thing. A florida distraction for me mostly. But I do still play the Kingdom of Loathing. Look me up as Mad Hamish online there. Um, yeah. Like I started playing the game in, I want to say March, and am currently in the 'let's ascend a few times to see what all the character classes are like before I start going for special goals' mode.

And somehow, given that I'm not through the Penultimate Fantasy Airship yet, I don't think I'm going to make it through this ascension before NS13 takes effect. Damn.

I'm not quite sure why you people wanted to finish your current ascensions asap before NS13. Wouldn't you get to the new content sooner by not doing that?

The gifts were given out simply for having played the game that long, Doom.

Also: Content was added to the earlier quests as well, but I am ripping up that level 11 quest SO HARD. ...also, the level 11 quest is horrendously long and complex, it's delicious.

I suspect the main motivation for wanting to finish the last ascension before NS13 came out is that they made familiars stop retaining levels when you drag them along on your ascension. Can't start a new ascension with a Lv20 familiar anymore, as I understand it.
