To clarify, only the Guards dying by a Stalwart sword count, right? None of this "200 guards eaten by adder" stuff. Also, are elements allowed?

No Maurog, these entries will be composed entirely of void.
Seriously, clarify.

Sorry. To clarify, there is no movement impeding objects. (Walls, boulders, arrows) No tokens. No oremites. Nothing that can kill creatures. (hot tiles, falling bridges, bombs) And, yes Maurog, the stalwarts have to kill the guards themselves.

I might enter - I think something might be possible with a mechanism that "resets" itself.

Also, to clarify - are we allowed to use Gel? It's pretty easy to set that up such that it effectively forms walls.

I would argue that it impedes movement.

Coppro is right in his assumption that tar/gel/mud impede movement. (Also briar, if anyone is wondering)

Just a thought - what about other monsters? I presume they don't count as killing guards, but do they count as movement impediments?

I would assume they need to be killed, due to the wait for clean room command, but I don't think it matters if the guards kill some instead of the stalwarts.

Are golems/rock giants allowed?

Rock golems/ giants are allowed as they are an active threat to the Stalwarts. Every thing in the room is required to be beaten, but it doesn't matter if the guards kill some of the extra creatures that you put in. The only restriction is that you can't kill golems/giants on the first two moves with guards.

Yay! :)
It's a shame no one else entered though, it was a really fun contest. Maybe it would have been better if the contest was judged by a poll, where you could vote for the best solution, and witch entry had the most hero like stalwarts, not only witch stalwarts managed to kill most guards.

I tried to make five guards kill as many stalwarts as possible (only using guards and stalwarts)... It's really hard. It seems as if every stalwart affects other stalwarts movement, and every time I tried to add a new stalwart where the guards definitely would have killed it, the whole puzzle changed, which often ended up with all guards dying...

It's partly because Stalwarts pathmap as if their sword can't rotate, and if they can't get to the enemy, they don't move.

Like techant, I arrived too late. I probably wouldn't have entered, anyhow, but it would have been fun to watch the progression. Too busy with other things to pay proper attention to the forum!
I'll check out the entries, maybe I'll learn something about these stalwarts.
