I assumed that since my previous plays of Molebank and Pilsuir Cemetery (neither of which are past or present London Underground Tube stations) were legal, that this one would be legal too (and profitable).

Apparently I was wrong, then. What penalty do the universal meta-aleph one rules exact upon me?

I believe you're in spoon for three turns, just like coppro was. But unlike him, you lose fifty percent of your strategic control in the east.

However, you've fallen into the trap of people who aren't paying close enough attention - I believe you now have to play any otherwise revealed stations at first opportunity from now on.

Spoon? Is that a station?

Anyway, I think it's my turn again, so I spill some oil on the other track to Mornington Crescent. I then land on King's Cross again to purchase some fuel and about 500 lbs. of TNT. Guess just what I am going to blow up?

(Yes, Mornington Crescent. It doesn't say in the rules that you can't blow it up. If it does, I have another use for the stuff anyway.)

(With both tracks covered with oil, is it now required to have an helicopter to reach Mornington Crescent?)

I'm going to try an Upminister slingshot, starting with Dagenham East. I know it's risky, but I think it's worth it.

Ooooh... a bold and risky move there. Leaves you open to attack from the west, but does give you a lot of power temporarily. Let's see if you can use it wisely.

Personally, I'm going to play it safe now, with Wapping

If we're complaining about incorrect moves, then all those who played King's Cross were playing invalidly. The tube station attached to King's Cross is King's Cross St Pancras.

Anyway. In preparation for tonight's England match I shall play Wembley Central.

I guess I slip on to Camden town. :(

Ah, but look.

Last game, I played a move to Leicester Square. I then made a move to South Ruislip, and was put into Spoon. I played Ruislip Manor, then Ruislip Gardens. When the Oxbridge North variant was chosen, a curious interaction caused my entire game history to be carried over - including those four moves and Spoon. I subsequently played Ruislip and West Ruislip, then broke out of Spoon by playing Camden Town. However, the use of all five Ruislip stations in between two stations on the same line lays a trap between them, and as such, not only has your move been cancelled, but you are now stuck in Vranz, confining you to the Bakerloo line.

Now I'll disarm the trap (since you guys all know about it) with Euston, which also breaks the loop.

Yay! The Dollis Hill loop is broken! Mornington Crescent in three, or four if no-one can pull off the shadow gambit.

Leicester Square

*blows up Mornington Crescent*

Now this game shall never end!!! *insert not good at all evil laugh here*

(if Mornington Crescent is not destroyable, I blow up the tracks leading to it instead)

EDIT: By "not good at all", I mean as in just plain horrible quality.

You can't destroy a station. You don't have the firepower.

That said, I can now play Knightsbridge again. I don't think I can stop Calamarain, unless...

Too late! The shadow gambit is down, at least one person has been in spoon, and thus I can twist safely to... Mornington Crescent!

That was a hard fought battle. I lost momentum a lot in the middle, and coppro's power-gaining in the west was just genius.

Would someone care to start the next one?

Since you won, you get to start it.

Please do those Elven rules!

EDIT: Wait. How did you get to Mornington Crescent if I had poured oil on the tracks?

Extra inertia from Leicester Square. It's a rare move, but technically legal under the current rules.

Then I'd better start.

We're going back to classics. We're going to play the straight up Tunbridge Wells rules, in the simplified form. Shadow gambits, and the Dollis Hill loop are prohibited except when you control the east, and the topwise curve carries a 50% penalty.

Remember that track shifts are legal in this variant, though using them on your first move is considered very bad form.
