Yeah, it sucks when you're stuck that way. Not quite as bad as the Dollis Hill loop, but still not easy to break out from. Tried the Amersham bypass?

Not easy normally, but I've still got Aldwych open, so I'll play that - which also puts the previous player into Spoon, so that'd be coppro. Sorry about that, dude!

I think I can break coppro out of spoon if I play Chalk Farm. Am I right?

You can, but it's tactically weak, and you'd be much better served by playing some kind of diagonal gambit. Coppro should be able to break out of Spoon in a couple of turns, anyway, or shorter if someone does a double-line cross.

I'm going to capitalise on the Chalk Farm move by doing something unexpected. I'm going for Euston. Just because there's so many possible strategies I can build from there that you're all going to wonder exactly what on earth I'm up to... mystery and evil are so much fun aren't they?

And, wheeeeeeee! This is my 1000th forum post!

Yes! Mornington Crescent! Taking into account the 2nd ammendment, the 32nd section, I used the Hentrick manuever to seize the prize.

Well, all seems good with one exception? Wasn't it one of the Universal Laws of Mornington Crescent that one may not win with the first move no matter what?

Correct. I think. If the game isn't over, I take the win for myself by moving to Mornington Crescent.

EDIT: Wait. This is post number 100! Looks like more people know how to play than I thought.

How about the Oxbridge North Variant? I know that I'm not bingbing, so I don't get to pick, but I'd like to play it.

Ooooh! Yes, please pick the Oxbridge North variant? It's got such a lovely loopback with the Jubilee that catches so many people out.

Majority rules make me pick the Oxbridge North Variant (although I really don't know how to play.) I'll try a meta-gambit via King's Cross

And NO, I am not going to just head to Mornington Crescent. That would be rude.

EDIT: Oxford and Oxbridge are two different things. Ouch.

Wait, I actually won!?

Seeing as we're playing a slightly more modern variant, I'll go out on a limb with something new - Heathrow Terminal 4.

Obviously, my usual Uxbridge start is blocked in this variant.

I could always join you in spoon, there are various dual tactics that can be performed that way. Although still, only one of us can win.

Not at the moment though, I start off with Limehouse

That's definitely not a legal move - it's not a London tube station.

Yes it is - I'm playing the Villinghamshire Muta-Gambit where stations with four or more O's in their name are not only perfectly legal but cut the travel time in half.

But they have to be real London underground tube stations.

Hello Huston! While heading there, I cause an oil spill, which makes the tracks too slippery to ride on. I then buy more oil, some petrol (4 units worth) and proceed to purchase a helicopter to not have to use the lines.

That would be true were we playing Four Squares, but we aren't now are we? We are playing the Oxbridge North variant. Surely you've forgotten that in said variant (which you yourself love!) the stations do not have to be in London, nor underground, nor even tube, as long as they are stations?

Nope. This is Mornington Crescent. I've never heard of any variant that allows a station that is not on the Tube (though that does not imply a present station, as many plays to Aldwych have shown).

Mmmmhmmm. Mornington Crescent - you must play a London underground station, past or present. No current variant allows anything else. If you're playing stations that aren't London underground stations, then you are not playing Mornington Crescent :)
