Hey, did you know you can smite these little bugger roaches on the title screen? That's a fun mini-game to take a break from the puzzling DROD, and tests your accuracy and speed.

So, what do you think of this? What's your best combo? How many roaches do you think you clicked>

I managed to somehow click all of them so there are none anymore..
I suggest the levels increasing in difficulty, with first roach queens coming,then wraithwings, then goblins, who try to get behind your cursor, and at the end the slayer or something.

He traps your cursor with the wisp, so you can't move it anymore, and then comes closer and strikes, from wich you die and have to restart.

ExtraCritters=1

Have you patched up to TCB 3.0.2rev2? I guess it's not in the very first version...

Yes, it does something in 3.0.0, which is what I'm using. Make sure you edit drod.ini while DROD is not running.

If you do have 3.0.2, you can also try typing

~Startup:ExtraCritters=1

in the chat box which comes up when you hit Enter while playing.

And yes, I found this looking at source code, and don't see anything about it in the help files.

Is it displayed anywhere (I certainly haven't come across it) or is it just being stored now in preparation for some presumably nefarious purposes later?

It's a joke. Spiders are invisible and are presumably not even there.

Although, they are visible when they move, so perhaps they just spawn at random places and wait for you to get 2 tiles near them.

I haven't found any mention on the site yet, just that the code does keep track and upload that number.

It has to be in the [Startup] section. Other than that, you should not need to wait.
