This hold is "loosely" related to the Game Cube smash, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.

I say loosely as, unlike my previous hold, your star of the hold this time is Beethro Budkin and NOT Samus Aran. The story revolves around mystical energy controllers in a mysterious land of The Eighth. These controllers have be stolen by a Dark Monster Army, and Beethro must help the "Helf" race to recover the energy.

It varies from my other holds. In the last one, the scripting was mostly around the code entry gates to progress through the level. This time out, there are plenty of full blown scripts that bring the puzzles to life that some delvers may not have seen before (or only rarely).

Here a list of some highlights:
- Scripted elements now form their own puzzles
- Brand new story starring Beethro Budkin
- Collect items along the way that expand areas Beethro can explore, and USE these items to solve puzzles
- All new levels in a new land... one of light and one of shadow...
- Unlock "Statues" using staircases, instead of entering forgetful codes. Watch as you travel to the rooms, and give hints on where you can go next.
- Even less annoying rooms - more out and out fun.
- Lots and lots of secrets collected in the form of items, pickups and story passages!

It's been so hard holding off from playing the Architecture copy, but I told myself I'd initiate myself with the final release. Congrats on finishing this epic project!

Edit: Temple Gardens description typos. Beathro->Beethro. Its->It's.

Temple Gardens 1s: "Another Roach infestation!" Roach should probably be lowercase.

Yeah, that's how I got to the room East of there the first time. Not more optimisable but still confusing. It's also possible to not be able to complete the room with the spiders in the collapsing gate. If you enter enough times without doing anything (twice?) the scripting no longer triggers the opening of the doors.

Anyways, that's not important. This is an absolute masterpiece.

I'll vote later but this is an incredible amount of work. "I'll take a stateless game and create a stateful universe." I'm in awe thus far - especially the boss levels. The rattlesnakes and floor timings was a stroke of genius. This looks like it will be a 9.5 as BT was.

It looks like I got myself stuck by going north in Temple Gardens just after accepting the quest from U-Man's Temple. The yellow door in Temple Gardens 1E is closing preventing me from going south again, and I can't go back through U-Man's Temple because a red statue is now blocking the north entrance in U-Man's Temple 1N.

It's entirely possible I'm overlooking something, but I think I'm really stuck.

Yes you are... exactly the same thing happened to me. It seems that as long as you don't kill the 2 roaches in the room with the yellow closing door, the door always stays open. You'll probably need to restore to the point before you solved that room.

I think there should be a green gate in TG1E, so you have to clear this room before you proceed. This will make the yellow gate shut so you can't get yourself trapped by completing this room later.

None the less, if you restore to 1S1E where you came out of U-Man's Temple, a new path should have opened allowing you access to the south-east. You shouldn't lose any progress this way.

You could call this an unintended solution. See how I accidentally hit the middle orb, but the snake still gets dead ended. But that's okay. It's really hard to do, so you really don't have to worry about fixing it.

Great hold by the way, I love a hold with a lot of secrets. You are a scripting genius, you've had me wondering about those scripts ever since I started this hold. Great work, and accept some great hold karma points from me. Good job, again. I'll be looking forward to your next hold (if you make one).

Yeah, I knew this could be done. in one version I actually only had one yellow trap, so you'd have to run two of the snakes into each other. I left three in more "artistic" reasons.

Speaking of spoilers, how spoilery is this hold for the original Echoes? I've played it but not finished it. If this is as spoiler heavy as Prime, I think I'll try to beat the Cube one first.

With regards to spoilers, it's not really that bad. The spoiler I wrote was actually in Geo's description of the hold, I now realize.

The hold doesn't have any items named the (exact) same, and the areas are all different. The game order is similar to Echoes, but not derivatively so--if you've played Echoes, you see what Geo has done, but if you play this hold, you might not recognize it in Echoes. The plot and objectives also follows the same lines, but it's been Eighthized.

Basically, I think the whole hold is spoiler-free, until the final boss (all incarnations), so it'd be okay to play through until then.

Could someone help me out here? I've been given access to Slugman's Forest, but I first have to get to U-Man's Temple. I can't go the way from Temple Gardens (its blocked by a purple statue) I believe there is one in Mugigug's Desert, but I can't find it! Any help, please?

This one had me puzzled for a bit too, completely unexpectedly.

You have to use the stairs from U-Man to Maguig's area. Exit Maguig's Desert via the first entrance. Go west, then north. The stairs should be in that room.

I'm not sure what to do next - I found the light key. The light key exits seem to indicate that "the battleground of death" is important, but it's a dead end as far as I can see - there's a red statue blocking my passage east from there.

Where should I go now?

Edit: Never mind, figured it out.

Who keeps giving this hold bad karma? -7 is a lot - if someone feels so strongly about it, could they please explain why?
