Eytanz gave us a screenshot in the "Guess the Screenshot" game that was confirmed to be in 3.0. It seems as though 3.0 will give us a bunch of new obstacles, and there seems to be some sort of fog effect going on as well. I also wonder if the sign is readable, or only decrative.

Nah, that's just the pixel shader 3.0 effects at work... :lol

I think - and I think Mike might want to add confirmation on this as to whether or not this is the case - that you may now be able to add any number of default generic obstacles in via the editor, in a manner similar to custom floors. That would keep our StyleX.pngs smaller and would also clean up some code, now that the system can include various medias in holds.

Actually, this would be pretty awesome as a feature request if it isn't already in there.

Coppro - depends what you mean. If you mean adding an obstacle of the type found in DROD 2.0 - one that is tweaked to appear differently in every room style, and that has a shadow which interacts with other shadows, then no, you cannot just create/import user-based ones. But there are quite a few new ones, some of which you see in the screenshot.

What I mean is - can you import them like you can image floors, and then use them like that?

yeah, pretty much. only without the 'oooh' sound, because there would most likely be an object there, not a hole.

Can you make then in DROD 2?

I thought you could now add new styles directly to your hold? So that's probably a "no"... :)

Well, I guess there's cloud effects. I'd expect that it'd extend to other effects above the playing field, maybe shadows or something like that.
