I am compiling the work, as Chaco suggested. Once again, Banjooie, I really hope you don't mind. I have also added, oh say, 5 or 6 levels. I really love this idea (even though I said it at least 4 times), I don't want this to go to... Page 2 (dreadful music plays). Anyway, my compilation will be probably in my next post. Oh yeah, I hope Banjooie gives me permission.

Thanks. So far, I am on World 3-4. Also, I have a warp from World 1 to 2, 2 to 3, etc. So far, warp is just a one room hallway. Maybe I could have a boss stage? I don't know. Oh yeah, there are 5 levels per world. Thanks again.

Ahem. Anyway, I do agree that "OMGZ TOO ROCH LOLZROFLS" is probably the best room, although I felt that the concept wasn't really used enough. The long jump is cool, but doing it twice... :?

Once TCB comes out, I'll likely be able to use relative points to recode this so that the jumps aren't /strikingly retarded/.

Until then, yes, it will be full of holes like an inflatable roach at Clearing School.

Yeah, I noticed that. Thats actually one of the only ways you can beat Pilchard VIII's level JtRH. On the H, you have to jump twice.

Sorry for the really late bump, but I just came back to DROD after almost a year of being gone, and I tried these platformers out and they were great :)

So I, like everyone else, made my own variation. Included features are a warp pipe thing, a tunnel, a secret area, and a moderately difficult 'ladder' puzzle. Let me know what you guys think!

I added some new levels to the hold. They have some difficult timing puzzles meant to mimic the shifting platforms in the dungeons from Alladin for the Sega Genesis. The first puzzle is so difficult I actually added an 'easy mode' orb you can hit to cheat and finish faster. I also tried mimicking the wubba fall-away platforms I saw in another variation of this hold but I think my coding is wrong. Anyway, I still need to update a few more rooms but tell me what you think!

Lst_6, nice job :) I really like the mud/tar doors in world 3, but there are some major issues with your hold:

1 - World 1 staircase ends the hold so you can't play Worlds 2 or 3 without editing the hold.
2 - The volcano level has some guard that completes the level before your roach character even comes out. Bug?
3 - World 3 is impossible because the roach can't get high enough to clear the top of the play area at the right.

If you fix these and make sure you playtest everything right, your hold should be good to go :thumbsup

Glad you fixed the bugs :) Now the rooms are all spiffy!

If someone knows an easy way to put all of the rooms into one hold, please do so. In my current version I use a custom background for the 'deadly' areas where the red sand tiles are currently used. I'd be happy to edit the compilation hold and put that image in for all of the areas where it would be needed.

One other thought - would someone be interesting in making a title image for DPoD to be displayed in the first room? Maybe there could be a level select there too.
