I'm really struggling on this one. I can get rid of most of the tar, leaving the holes round the edge blocked up to prevent the roaches getting in. But when I start getting rid of the tar round the edges, I end up surrounded by roaches, and with 8 getting generated every 30 turns, I don't seem to have enough time to do everything.

Any hints?

This one always gives me trouble too. I am pretty sure that every time I've solved it, I leave the bottom right section of tar for the end, and just use the walls as cover from the roaches. But every so often you do need to remove a large clump so that others can pile up and leave you in peace.

Hopefully someone else has a bit more detail...

Game on,

I don't remember this room well enough to tell you what I did. But the tar isn't going to grow, right? So perhaps clearing it from the inside out would be a good strategy. The roaches will pile up outside, but you'll have a wall of tar (until the end) between you and them)

I just solved this one today. Not pretty. I think the number of moves I made was greater than the number of dollars I earn in a year.

Your wish is granted. This demo is hardly optimal, but it gives you the general idea.

Can somebody please post a demo for this level? This isn't even fun to try anymore. I've been at it FOREVER.

As this is a secret room for the 10th level, I figured it would be OK to post this here. There are three secret rooms on this level, two of which are fairly easy to find; this one and the small room off of 1N 3E. However, I have been over every wall or area accessible on this level and can't find the 3rd room to save my life. Could someone post or email me the room that the 3rd Secret Room is accessible from? I don't want to leave the level without finding all the rooms as it is needed to get to the ultimate level for this Hold. Thx.

The access to that third secret room on level 10 is

Besides, it's fine to leave without conquering secrets, since once the hold is conquered, you can just Restore to whatever point you want: To master the hold, your player just needs to conquer all secrets in any order, not necessarily in the same saved game.

Honestly, this secret room wasn't difficult. It simply just takes a long time to get it done, that's all

Playing the game again after 16 years. Tough room but i did it in under an hour. I must have improved in the last decade and a half.
