For those of you unaware, I like to think that good 'space shooter' games in the danmaku vein stimulate a similar range of thought as DROD. You might think of them as "DROD for the action gamer" on some level. (Well besides DRODDER, which is quite literally DROD for the ation gamer. But I digress.)

Plus those graphics are just *trippy*, and it runs in a small window (I like games that run well in smallish windows).

My current high score's only 30,000 though. (I need to work on my Touhou runs if I'm gonna do well in a randomized danmaku environment...)

Nice game... 348K on my first go tho so may not play again. I prefer something more like Tyrian where there's more variety. Great gfx tho...

Ah, yes, Kenta Cho. I've played many of his games (at least, the ones that have been ported to Macintosh) and I must say, they are very awesome.

I eagerly await the day I can play this one too, and wholeheartedly recommend all games on that website.

I haven't played any shoot em ups for a while. There are some parts that became like Giga Wing, and you can't go invincible so you die. The only thing I really want to do in Imperishable Nights is to Extra Stage, which is supposed to be 10 times easier than Embodiment Of Scarlet Devil which is like a twisted knightmare... so I'm told.

IN's Extra Stage, according to #shrinemaiden, actually is not as bad as some of the extra stages. Of course, I don't stand a ghost of a chance at ANY of them (I have only gotten the Good Endings in IN because I played Easy Mode...) But I digress. I like the Classic Mode's 'steal enemies' schtick. I could seriously imagine some more creative uses of that idea, actually...
