To solve this room, I started by waiting just inside the southern door for it to open, and watching what the Neather did. (There are two possible doors through which to initially pass--a northern and southern door.) It may SEEM like he's randomly hitting orbs, but he's not. This is your opportunity to learn which orbs control which doors... because he hits them ALL at least once.
(Ok, to be fair, I got stuck for awhile on this room, and I came to these forums and read for awhile to get ideas... which eventually led to my recording the orb/door pairs and playing with an idea or two until I solved the room.)
In summary, here's how the orbs and doors pair-up:

×View the map as a sequence of north-south (vertical) lines. Start in the northwest corner, and scan south, down the first line. When you find a door, label it 1, and continue. When you reach the bottom of the first (west-most) line, go to the top of the next line (the one just to its east), and scan down it. Continue to do this, numbering doors consecutively as you come to them: 1, 2, 3, etc. These numbers precisely correspond to the orbs, from left-to-right, except for three of them: orbs 14/15/16 correspond to doors 16/14/15, respectively.
This information may help you plan a strategy.
Here's where I got through:

×I used the southeast-most door-pair (inverted U) to get through to the roach queens. You just have to time it right, and perhaps have your sword pointed the right direction already. If you screw it up, just restart the room and try again. It's at least as fast as running all over, trying to distract the Neather into re-opening the doors, and it's probably actually faster. (And, it's better learning for the precisely required steps to success.)

Good luck! :)
