There could be a command "pathfind to beethro", where the NPC would act like a brained roach and a command to act like each kind of monster. They wouldn't kill beethro, but they could find him. I know this is possible right now, but very very tedious.

Pathfind to (X, Y) would be even better, actually.

Yes, but right now to find beethro is a lot of work. Any way to get to him would be nice.

How about simply making the function a "Pathfind to (X, Y)" command only, but provide a seperate function that enters Beethro's current (X, Y) position into the parenthetical? Something like "Pathfind to([Beethro_location])" That would solve both concerns. It could then be used in both ways. You could enter any specific spot, or find Beethro with the same function.

I'm adding this and a couple variants to 3.0 movement scripting.

I hope commands like 'Move NW', 'Move Towards X,Y' (Like Pathfind except without multi-turn commitment) will be in there. Spawn X would also be nice. I still like a text-based system best. But, after all, that's what open-source is for! (I'll be working on it myself for those of you who didn't get the hint)

EDIT: It shouldn't be that hard. I will likely be able to extract most of the data from moster patterns, and maybe even make a more annoying WW.

Yeah, move in X direction would be fantastic, especially for if... goto goto loops.
