I've played through everything I could find in this hold. It's a very nice, not too difficult hold.
Since others have already commented on most of this, I'll just briefly mention a couple things about Treasure Rooms. The end of level stairs warp back to the beginning of the level. In 1S1E, there's a much easier way to position the tar baby than the one hinted at by the force arrows. Because you have the door and the toggle orb, you don't need the 1x1 obstacle.
This is an a-maze-ing level! As far as I can tell, the rooms work as intended, where you have to conquer them first, so that you can come back later and drop all the trapdoors.
×1N1W - Used the mimic to break a wall, then kill the brain, when the time was right. The scroll says, "
to drop the green door, you need to come in by the bottom right entrance."
I don't think this is helpful at all; if the player can get to the scroll, she's used an entrance by which she can conquer the room. I entered at (37,25). Similarly, a trapdoor dropping run should work from any entrance.
1W - Conquering this room is easy, and can only be done from (6,0). Dropping the trapdoors works from the other entrances. This requires the mimic, and knowledge about what happens when you kill a mimic that is on a trapdoor.
1N2W - At first glance, this orb puzzle on trapdoors looks horrendous. But with a little help from pencil and paper, it wasn't so bad at all. There's a typo on the top scroll; it says: "
All orbs toggle the remaining orbs."
1S1W - I had to run through this room first, and I was only able to conquer it when entering from (37,17). And just barely then. I think the lynchpin was supposed to be, leave the loose tar baby behind. However, the tar blob at (29,15) was more of a problem. It seems there's only one way to cut it and still reach the mother in time.
1S - Very simple room. Because the eye's gaze is blocked by the door, it can only be conquered from (0,6). Later, trapdoors can be dropped from (37,8).
1S2E - Wha? Huh? It's a bug!!!!!!!1eleven
I can't get to these stairs.
2S1E - Ooooh! I found a secret place.
1N - The wraithwing helped the roach reach the right hand arrow.
1N1E - Because of that tar baby, I can only conquer from (0,5). And trapdoors can be dropped from (0,22). Some very tight mimic manipulation in there.
1E - Entering from the north allowed me to make the snake turn east so I could finally reach the brain.
Entrance - Also a very simple room that can only be conquered from (37,8).
1S1E - A very interesting room. I saved it for last, when I was sure I didn't need the tar mother alive for anything. I don't think the scroll's suggestion is particularly helpful in this case, as it's certainly possible to reach the orb killing a baby every 2 turns. In this way, I was able to get the mimic after 2 spawns.
I liked all the different things you can do in this room, conquer, run through without conquering, cut the 2x4 tar blob to drop the trapdoors, push the mimic against a green door to open the southern doors. Reaching the secret stairs is probably a lot harder in AE, as you can't see where the green doors used to be.
