A new project I decided to start. It takes place in the Caravel Building. It currently only stars four members, including me, but more will arrive as the adventure continues.

Before you start, you should read Inside the Caravel Building. That way, it will put you in the context of the story for this hold.

The story takes place in the near future. It involves Jeff_Ray going to guard duty on Floor B-256. He meets up with Fang there. They then find an infestation on the next floor. They then proceed to clean it up.
To find what happens next, please play the hold.

This hold is going to include a lot of members from the forum, and maybe make references to a load of them. Here's a list of characters that appear or are mentionned in the current version of this hold, in order of appearance.

This is an interesting hold! I have conquered the upper and easier part of B-257 (and have no plans on trying the harder part) but am stuck

I don't know how much there is after that, but I can't access what's going on because the hold is set to "You and Conquerors".

I really enjoyed the Caravel Building story and am looking forward to the new content in the hold.

Just a question, but is this hold going to be a cross between the story purposes and a regular RPG Hold?

Here's my statistics for using the Tough Path.

There's a reward at the end of the Tough Path, which is a Wooden Shield (buyable with a yellow key). Depending upon how much longer the hold runs, this could be very useful. On the other hand, it's harder to come out of the Tough Path with spare yellow or green keys for the next level, so we'll have to wait and see.

Overall, I think both the Easy Path and the Tough Path are nicely done, bite-sized level chunks that nicely illustrate the normal progress in a hold - find out what battles you want to fight, what battles to put off, and how to get the upgrades you need to fight the toughest battles.

I think the Tough Path, while definitely harder than the other path, had some interesting features, such as a few simple puzzles and the ability to exchange resources for the ability to back-attack eyes. Getting greckles to buy health was an interesting mechanic, especially since there was a tight control over how much money the player could get. (It's notable, though, that you pretty much need all the ATK in the level to kill the mud mother, thus making some choices impossible to take, due to the fact that they seal off ATK gems.)

Overall, this was a well-done segment and I am looking forward to more to the story. :)

Level 2 is a good continuation.

The level itself is mostly solid, and it's good that plenty of health is supplied at the beginning of the level, since it's possible to get out of level 1 and the ensuing chase with only a little health.

I ended up having a lot of spare keys at the end of the level, around five each of yellow and green. Perhaps just before the level boss (the gray man) you could eat up some more of the player's keys?

The various cutscenes that make up the story are OK and passable by my low standards, if a little oddball. One suggestion I have would be to improve the goblin blockade cutscene by giving the player more control - if he has enough health to kill a goblin (over about 800 at the end), I'd appreciate the chance to kill the single goblin that tries to kidnap Fang, and change the story by rescuing Fang. This would be a great reward for people who optimized level 2 enough to have enough health to do that sort of thing, and start a branching story structure. Alternatively, you could make that guy a Goblin Commander, making the point moot.

Overall, this is well-done work, and this level has some nice designs. I'm interested in seeing where the story and the game goes from here, and I hope Level 3 throws in some more unique, interesting design elements.
