icon Slayerly Contest (+1)
What is this about?
This contest is about making a hold about slayers! In this hold, you have 10 stalwarts actively kill as many slayers as possible by stabbing them with their sword. No stalwart can die. The best way to make sure that the slayers can't be diverted from their attempted stalwart killing, would be to make a cutscene that waits until all the slayers are dead before Beethro can appear.

Rules
You are allowed to have a brain in there.
You are alloted 10 stalwarts, 1 brain (not required), and an infinite amount of slayers.
Any other enemies are not allowed.

Deadline

The deadline of this contest is March 21st, or otherwise the beginning of spring.

Prizes
First Place 10 Mod Points
Second Place 6 Mod Points
Third Place 4 Mod Points

Don't Cheat
Please, just don't.

Have Fun!

Two things:
1) Why a brain? :)
2) Secondly: When one has to kill Slayers, you really shouldn't require the entries to be "simple enough for most people".

I said easy enough for most people not simple enough. And a brain in a room -- have you ever tried killing lots of slayers with some dumb stalwarts? If so, how did it turn out? Just use a brain to make life easier.

I...really don't see the difference. In fact: could you kindly post two rooms, identical in setup except for the presence of a brain (let's say, behind a door in the corner, so it doesn't impede movement), where stalwarts and slayers interact differently?

Huh. I'll do something to prove that brains affect stalwarts. If I fail, good job and I'll remove the stuff about a brain.

I'll also remove the part about the "Make sure it's simple enough for most people." thing.

EDIT: I have a hold that I just finished that could show that brains affect stalwart movement differently.

Try removing the brain in 1E. That won't affect the Stalwarts and Slayers in any way. What *does* affect the outcome of the battle is movement order. Movement order in the Eastern room is different from movement order in the Western room. Plus, Stalwarts (or Slayers) might have some weird preference (East before West, or West before East, or whatever) which might modify the outcome because the rooms aren't identical, but merely symmetrical.

Well, this contest was worth looking at just because of the Stalwart Brain issue. Maybe the next contest will be make a room that proves Brains affect Stalwarts, Ha Ha... :w00t

Brains don't affect Stalwarts any more than an unwoken Evil Eye would. :)

Oh well, you are probably right, as usual.

Meanwhile, did anyone want to participate in this contest, or did we just want to talk about how brains don't affect stalwarts?

960 dead slayers without even using Stalwarts. I could do more if I could plce them on room edges.

You can, just copy the slayers to the room edges.

You were supposed to use ten stalwarts and as many slayers as possible without losing any stalwarts. Cool hold though.

Here's a version with ten Stalwarts.
And I still couldn't place Slayers on room edges.

Dex:
If you place a slayer on the room edge, that means if you enter the room on that space a slayer will follow you into the room (It's the same with Halph, 39th, and Young Halph.). You'll have to use NPCs if you want to pre-place the slayers.

Try this!! 1036 slayers on the first turn! with 10 stalwarts included.

Also, it turns out I was indeed wrong about copying slayers on room edges. though it shows up with the image of a slayer, it won't show up in the room.

I knew that, but Timo mentioned that I could bypass this by copying the Slayers to the room edge. It didn't work.

1204 slayers die in one move.

BTW, if you only have Slayers and bridge in a room, it's possible to kill 1216 slayers in 1 move. :shhocking

Ediiit: How do you win this contest?

I thought that was rule was deleted, I recall this..

Mr. Slice wrote:

but if the rule about the brain isn't removed, then you are still the leader (and probably the winner).

Well, if it was deleted. Mr. Slice should have removed it from the first post. And it's still there.

Edit: Brains affecting movement order is a good enough reason to keep the rule.

I didn't delete it because I'm still convinced that brains can affect stalwart movement. But rather than saying you have to have a brain in there, you can put it in there if you'd like.

I was thing more of a hold in which stalwarts would kill the slayers. Not like just having 10 stalwarts but kill over a thousand slayers in one move, no, the stalwarts must kill the slayers!

After Mach 21st, I'll set up a voting poll so that people can judge the holds. The real contest (no joke holds that have already been posted here) will start NOW!
