Why not make a fuse to a bomb that is making the bomb that it is attached to explode at once when you step on it?

I actually like this idea. It works well for puzzles that require setting up pre-explosions (Don't Kill the Messenger, anyone?), and could also inspire movement caution in a way which is not a bomb nor orb maze.

However, I would add that it behaves like a fuse in that you can only step on an end to light it, and stepping on the middle wouldn't do anything.

How about putting down a 1x1 fuse somewhere, and make stepping on it trigger an NPC with a sword hitting a bomb?

np: Move D - Nimm 2 (Kunststoff)

But that's unobvious and not awesome. I could make sister gates with characters too, but that didn't keep them out.

I can see an extension to this: fast fuses joining up with regular fuses. But that might be a little too difficult graphics-wise.

Put a note next to the fuse, then...

np: Move D - Xing The Jordan (Kunststoff)

I would quite like this. There is a lot of puzzle potential.
But would fast fuses and regular fuses work like this?:

X = open
F = fast fuse
S = regular fuse
B = Beethro
U = burning fuse

That scripting would only work if and only if there was no monsters blocking the bomb from exploding, and you wouldn't know which bombs were going to explode. I would imagine fast fuses as being grey, like wires.

I think the 1*1 comment was there to prove a counterexample to my use of the word "middle". So it still holds generally...and if you can do that with a fast fuse, you should be able to do it with a normal fuse.

I...think quick-fuse possibility is mostly in TCB, under the guise of different game elements. So we wouldn't add this particular request redundantly in this form, but I think it's in there. And that's all I have to say about that.

Wild speculation...
The Mine's Eye:

1 evil eye
15 pounds of gelignite
1 pumpkin scooper
1 copper wire
1 yard white thread

Sneak up behind evil eye, being careful not to wake it. Hollow out eye with Pumpkin scooper. Set insides aside for an evil eye evil fry. Shape gelignite into sphere and place in hollow eye. connect wire between optic nerve and gelignite, be careful not to shake, agitate, or awaken eye during this step. Use white thread to reseal eye. Walk away VERY carefully, being ten times as certain you don't wake the eye as you were approaching it.

Now, find a safe hiding place and watch for a delver to approach The Mine's Eye. Even if they come in peace,they'll still be leaving in pieces.

A wild guess says orb and plate functionality got extended and you can link em to just about anything. Doors, other orbs, fuses, bombs (explodey), trapdoors, maybe even monsters (like sleeping eyes).

So, instead of hiring people to go get the dropped trapdoors out of the pit (as JtRH level 4 testifies) we can just have an orb to put them all back up after you complete the trapdoor puzzle?

Would that then raise the red doors again (and lower the red sister gates)?

In fact, "gelignite" dates back to 1889, and is indeed a blend of "gelatin" and "ignis" (Latin for "fire"), so it is roughly "Gel Ignite".
