I think he meant the square in front of the serpent to be an unjumpable wall. If it is, that both B and J will do the same.

Correct, the square in front is unjumpable in the image.

It looks like it might be harder to get into the central arena than was originally expected - I think it'll be a while before somebody can bump into a coil, turn right and then jump over those boxes in the middle of the large walls.

Erm, Jason is 1 turn away from entering the middle arena (if he chooses to).

Several other serpents have clear paths to the middle arena, though it will take them a while (Tim0006 and Thanan to name two).

Oh, I see now. Serves me right for not looking over the whole board. :blush

Well, hmm. I've got my next few decisions planned out, but that's it - I guess I'll leave general predictions and alerts to you guys.

And I'm going to follow right beside him. Knowing what to do once inside is a different matter, but at least I should be safe for a while.

So .. um .. I guess cooperation is out of the question, huh ?

And that scheme was so nice and mutually beneficial, too! Shame it'll result in my certain death unless I'm .. spared ..

I believe that I've identified a second snake whose wellbeing depends entirely on the kindness of others.

In keeping with the spirit of the contest, I won't say anything else until it's been decided, although I will comment that I think that this snake's chances of actually dying are low, as it requires a set of moves that is probably not in the best interest of the snake's owner.

But here's what I see, hidden until it's too late to matter:

Maurog is the unlucky snake. It requires a Jump from techant on her next opportunity (Turn 48), and a Bump from coppro on turn 46, followed by a succession of jumps. Maurog's position will become fatal on or about Turn 55.

Yay! I'm alive. 45 moves into the actual arena without getting to see it, but the beginning seems to have been reasonably lucky.

Looking forward to playing the rest of the game! I've got a few route options to the center, but so far I'm still waiting for the decisions of some other snakes.

A couple of days ago, I thought I was clever getting into the topleft corner as soon as possible. Where did everybody else come from all of a sudden :?

You're still fine, despite all the company. It could even be a good thing. And you'd be there anyway if you bumped.

It's a bug - check the topic in The Site. Schik's messing with the untiltime tag.

If I'm looking at this right. Wow. Was there a faster way to get out of that arena that I missed, too?

I don't think so. I thought of a few ways that were faster than the original way I came up with, but not by enough moves to save you. Sorry -- looks like you had a round of bad luck.

Yeah -- I'm just not going to mess with it, and if it doesn't fix itself by reveal time then I'll manually reveal it.
