Ok here is the first version of my first hold, its is definitly just a start and far from perfect, still i would love to hear your comments. Everyone is allowed to edit it so i would be really thankful if you could try out the rooms and give me a feedback...

Some remarks:

*Level 2 is definitly better than level 1

*In Level 1:
*I dont really like 1E and 1W myself its lots of annoying stuff and killing so probably they wont make it to the final hod
*I really like 2W myself, hope it isnt too hard or a solution exists which makes it too easy
*2W1S BOOYEA!
*The rest of the hold shouldnt be too hard, just give it a try and tell me what you think
*2S is not necesary to finish as although it looks easy i am not sure wether it is actually possible... tell me and if possible send a demo when you managed it

*In Level 2 (the better one :-)
*Watch the polarlights, they are really important.
*I hope 6W is not too annoying, I really love that room
*The last room (9W) is meant as a joke, shouldnt be too hard once you found out what the idea is...

So have fun and tell me what you think

Yours Geiler

I like it! It's fun, it has it's one sense of style. Some rooms have a bit more monsters than needed, but it's all in good fun. I like the second level better than the first, the polar lights are cool! 9W was pretty easy, I got it quite quickly, but fun none the less. No particular comments, except maybe cut out "bastard" and capitalize the level names. Good job!

Thx for playing and commenting...

Text and names of level are definitly not finished but still thx forthe advice...

Did you actually finish the level for which the polarlights are supposed to help? Iam kind of afraid it might become annoying as there is a lot to clear... :-)

Thx Geiler

I didn't actually clear that particular room, but I get the idea. It's sort of obvious.

They're called "northern lights" not "polar lights". A minor mistake.

My only gripe is that in some rooms you deliberately set out to annoy the user. This is not a good thing.

Also, some of your ideas could be reduced in size (e.g. the northern lights/bomb maze). However, I did see some gems here. The wubba room was okay, and I absolutely loved your two-square rattlesnake room.

I thought this hold was quite interesting. The puzzles are quite fun.

But there are a lot of strange things. For example, if you forget to do L1:1E first, then you will restart the hold when you almost thought you've finished the hold. That's not funny. That goes for many rooms in this hold.

L2:1W is not funny, since I didn't saw there were monsters in this room, so if I was really playing it I would have to restart this whole level.
L2:4W is also strange. I only needed the first three potions.
L2:5W is even more interesting. You don't have to kill anything to leave this room to the west.

2 demos attached.

-- Tim

PS. This holds also needs lots more checkpoints... To make sure if you has chosen the wrong route, you don't have to restore a few rooms back.

Thx Tim...

YOu gave some great advice, for case you are still interested, I attached a new file in the original post with the following features:

1.) Level 2 is much nicer
2.) In Level 1 2W an arrow is changed, I guess now you have to solve the level in the way i intended it to get solved
3.) In Level One 1E is totally changed to make the hold les annoying, but yea i know it is not finished yet and probably doesnt work.
4.) I changed the thingy with the blue gate... now you can make the rooms in whichever order you want
5.) In Level 2 5W you definitly got sth to kill now... actually you had to kill something before as well as you needed the room to finsih the hold... but yea.. you were right, there was a possibility to simply walk through
6.) In Level 2 1W you should see the monsters now... it makes no difference basicly.

The only thing I dont know yet is how you soved level2 4W... you describtion sounds pretty impressive... in my solution you need more or less everything..

Thanks again a lot for your advice

Geiler

(Can't make demos of level 2 yet, because I haven't been that far outside the editor.) But here's my solution:
1) Start with sword pointing NE.
2) Put the blue mimic on (2,29) (Use right mouse click to see coordintes)
3) Decoy 1 at (9,27) to kill a roach.
4) Decoy 2 to kill the top eye.
The rest is up to you.

(I am going to bed now. More info later.)

Why should they be the Northern Lights? Have you never heard of Aurora Australis? :)

Hehe yea,... I just uploaded a major update of the hold... the first level should be much better now and even as enjoyable as level 2.

Hope you like it, feedback always welcomed!

I wont publish any updates in the next days, but try to create level 3 and 4 before the next release, still feel free to beta test the first two levels as much as you like!

Yeah, I do, but the NPCs are facing North! That means they must be taking place over the North Pole, and are thus the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). :)

Well, I just had an argument with someone about north being at the top on maps, so I had just better agree with you and not go off into fantasy world :lol

More proof needed? In the game, going from the Entrance in the direction that the NPCs are looking will land you in Once North. Therefore, the NPCs are facing north. You can't see the Southern lights by facing north, obviously, so they are looking at the Northern Lights.

*phew*

Level 3 and 4 are finished now, sorry there are no more Northern lights included as action takes place under the earth...

As I dont want to make a public download before the final release i am looking for beta testers for my hold. If you want to try out a total new hold with severall fun and hopefully difficult rooms, which are more about thinking than st00piud qwq moves, contact me by pm.

Thx in advance
Game on
