1. If mimics are simply entities that copy your moves, then how come it won't fall down a pit if you make it make a move that would move it into one?

2. Similarly, if you die and there's a mimic out there, shouldn't the mimic make dying motions too?

Of course not. Theres something about the mothingness that repels Beethro (and mimics) from pits. Even if he wants to step into a pit, he can't. Try it! ;)

Mimics copy instinct and muscle memory - it's kind of fuzzy where the line is of what, exactly, is copied, but generally things that people do automatically, like breathing and kicking when one's knee is hit with a hammer, are copied over seeing as they don't involve the brain so much. Not jumping in a pit is an instinctive survival mechanism, so mimics have it.

...well, that's what I'd say, if I were writing the canon.

What is this "instinct" you speak of? The mimic just came from a blue liquid, and you expect it to have this "instinct"?

Also, neither of you did anything about my second argument.

Really? I always thought everything was flawlessly consistant. I'm just pointing out something that seems flawmorely consistant.

Good, you caught it. I was wondering if any one would catch it. Yes, everything is falwlessly consistant.

Mimics don't fall into pits because they are floorlessly consistant.

And similarly, they don't spin around when Beethro dies because they are flaillessly consistant.

I'd make a dental joke about them being jawlessly consistent here, but I guess I'll refrain from doing it out of courtesy... :D
