It's probably better to discuss that in the Riddle of the Bar thread on the Forum Games board, where other people are discussing it as well.

Game on,

[goodies]about the riddle?

it was a great surprise to me when i realised that this tiny bar is clickable. this is one reason (only one!) why i enjoy the caravel forum so much! those "little" ideas to enthuse the folx... i got the knowledge about the goodies by solver 107. *ggg* (no joke, but is makes me grin) then i began to work hard to collect all the goodies. while i did so i yet had figured out the goal of the riddle. (thanx for the hint about laguage difficulties i got from Geiler Hengst!!!) so at least it was only a question of time when i would solve it.

the riddle itself is very funny imho, but i really wonder about how people were get the idea to click on the bar!

the price is a good one, i were not expecting lots of cash or a free copy of TCB or something with any material worth. and the goodie to use the goodies-tag is also a good feature!

furthermore the bar gave me many rank- and mod-points so i can say that it is really worth to click the bar![/goodies]

[goodies]Well, all those threads about it are bound to make one suspicious... (well, that and a well-timed mis-click does the trick usually... :D)[/goodie]

[goodies] Aside from hiding new creatures in the game, the blacked out lines spell cfg ... obviously because NPCs will now be much more configurable.

Ok, so the screenshot itself tells us that, but maybe characters actually will get their own .cfg files so that they are portable from hold to hold and can be more heavily customised than we'd suspect?

(in which case C could just be citizen 3 after all and blacked JUST for this reason)
[/goodies]

[goodies]Well, what we do have is that you can at least copy-paste scripts - even into text (My fault). And, they will be cross-room-compatible. But with text, you could just copy it into text, and then maybe edit and repaste into umpteen rooms. You could even give scripts away to other people, instead of having to do dumb things. I have anticipation.

Also, it is widely regarded that the F stands for Fegundo. However, I cannot yet comment on Schik's roleclaim in the (now) dead Mafia for DRODiacs.[/goodies]

[goodies]You have to remember one thing about the Fegundo, though. As stated in the Animal Life article, they are strictly an aboveground animal, and their crazy reproduction cycle would be impossible to carry out underground. I find no way that they could be in the game and still fit in the Canon that we currently have access to.[/goodies]

[goodies]Wrong Canon. Patrick was referring to the budget not being big enough for a proper multi-function unit, and the little inkjet is just too cramped.

Edit: What are Customs and Quarantine like in The Eighth anyway? You'd have no chance smuggling animals into Australia inside office equipment...[/goodies]

[goodies]We are dealing with the Empire here. They want to gain "Knowledge of everything there is or isn't. Knowledge of everything that will, might, or ought to have been." Why shouldn't the Fegundo be included? In addition, doesn't the sun rise on Sun Isle? If so, wouldn't that mean that it passes underground? Logically, therefore, the Fegundo would be able to reproduce underground. Wraithwings are also found both below and above ground. Why shouldn't the Fegundo?[/goodies]

[goodies]It's already in the Canon - I wrote an article about them and the other aboveground animal life here. I'm not grabbing this from some sort of secret repository or anything - everything that I'm given access to I immediately have to pass on to you guys.

Well, within reason anyways. You wouldn't want me to start spoiling TCB, would you? Good.

Edit (Just noticed coppro's post): The Fegundo, from what little information we have, seems to be a lot smarter than the wraithwing. These fiery birds appear to be almost legendary, and would appear to require immensely difficult and advanced technology to capture them. Then comes trying to breed them underground, which, by the sounds of it, would be even more impossible. Trying to explain it all Canonically would take a lot of effort.[/goodies]

[goodies]Well, spoiling no. But a dev version, that's a different story :shifty

But this is the Empire we're talking about. They can and will attempt to do anything. Now, I can't say that they've found a way to do it, but within all reasonable bounds they will make every attempt to do so.

Of course, you do have the Printer Advantage (coining a new term for someone who has irrefutable evidence (Erik) about the canon), but the nature of the Empire is not such that they will abandon something just because they "can't do it"[/goodies]

[goodies]Well, yes, but there is a difference between "getting them and collecting data from them", and "getting them and turning them into an evil monster breed". I mean, look at the Spoostlefish - do you think we're gonna see those things in TCB? Probably not.

I don't doubt that they might be able to get a Fegundo to learn and experiment on, but as for it becoming a monster in TCB? Probably not. [/goodies]

[goodies]I'm just going to remind the readers of this thread that I have absolutely no influence as to the features in TCB. I have never played it, nor do I know anything about confirmed features. All of my ranting/arguements have been based on personal opinion rather than fact. They may very well be in, but I have no power to know one way or the other.[/goodies]

Gamer - I think your previous post (the one two posts up, not the one you made while I was posting) has a broken tag, though I can't tell for sure.

[goodies]The comparison between fegundos and wraithwings is misguided to begin with. Fegundos are birds. Wraithwings are - well, it's not clear what they are, but they're either flying reptiles or mammals, and quite probably related to goblins. I don't know where Gamer gets the idea that fegundos are significantly smarter than wraithwings - I can't find any canon that would point one way or another here - but the two creature types are different enough that you just can't make assumptions from one onto the other.

To the best of my knowledge, the sun doesn't pass underground, but I don't fully understand Eighth cosmology. Maybe Erik will mention something later.[/goodies]

[goodies]Where is Sun Island? Perhaps the sun merely travels underground past the pie border? I think now would be a good time for Erik to step in, because now this discussion isn't getting anywhere, unless of course there is a good reason for him not to do so.[/goodies]

[goodies]Sun Island is at the very topmost part of the Eighth. This is the actual triangle-pointy part of the wedge. I think that this picture of it best describes my idea for it - an enpty volcano that the sun sits in once it has set.[/goodies]
