Warning: Spoilers for Dugan's Dungeon can be found in the linked page.

The answer to your question appears to be on the Level Descriptions page for Level 7. [Note - Site link is down at present]

It seems he got it when a serpent bit him when he wasn't looking.

I'd say that unless he was in an extreme hurry, he would be too sure-footed in dungeons to fall down the stairs.

He wasn't paying attention... Did you ever try fighting a serpent without paying attention? If he wasn't as comptent a smitemaster as he is, he'd probably have had his whole head bitten off.

Oh, I had read that before, didn't know why it didn't occur to me... :D
Either way, I just made it for fun I guess... Oh and the falling down the stairs part was kind of a joke. (it could have been a dark dungeon) :D

The answer to that is obviously "leaf juice."

If you've seen a few level descriptions in King Dugan's Dungeon, you'll know what's it about ;)

Just play a little further if you don't know about it.

Better to think of leaf juice as an Eighth version of cider. Straight crushed leaves don't turn out too well.

Matt, the unsubtle approach

Beethro is a healthy, blue collar kind of guy. I thought it was wheat grass juice.

I have an additional answer: Beethro wasn't as skilled a smitemaster back when he was bitten. Nowadays, Beethro would be able to hear a serpent behind him while sleeping (hey, wackhead's old avatar showed Beethro can do this with a roach, though not in the game).

Hello everyone.

As you might know already, I have a new theory. :yes

But first things first... I just moved to the Netherlands and am going to language school. Since all of us here know almost no Dutch at all, we use the books that Dutch pupils use at the age of 7 or something like that.

In one of those books I saw a poem, which I am not going to quote here, however what the poem says can be put together as:
A guy says that he also once had such a thing on his nose, but he thought it to be ugly and got rid of it (he does not say how). However, he is now sorry that he did that, as he recently found out that it's a good thing, to be exact it is where witches and alike keep their magical powers, and that he himself also had such powers, but stupidly threw them away.

Another story I read recently was an entry for the contest that had to do with Beethro's first adventure. In that storz, the author tells us that Beethro felt the magic surging through him the moment he touched Claythro's sword. That must be the moment that Beethro's head got it's change of shape.

Sorry for not writing too clearly and sorry for the y's and z's I may have gotten wrong(I'm forced to use a German keyboard right now)

Well, I suppose magic could be used to explain how it is that Beethro can start a room over millions of times.. but I prefer to think a certain wizard (not just any wizard did it) is responsible for that. Partly responsible, anyway. :)

Actually, that's an artifact of the game interface, but canonically, does not happen in the "reality" of the Eighth. Much like the world being confined to square "tiles", it's not one of the things one has to explain about the game.

In my opinion, it's simple! He obviously had a face transplant while going from Webfoot DROD to Caravel DROD, but it went wrong, hence the stitch. ;)
