Here's a thread for all the complaining about monster movement in the TSS demo.

Anyway, I recently came across a position where a roach moved according to the red arrow to attack a citizen, rather than according to the green arrow to attack a Stalwart. My impression was that monsters would prefer to move small distances to attack close by units, but maybe I'm wrong about this.

The short explanation is magic - the Roach would move the same even without the citizens there but would attack the stalwart.

The long explanation is - the roach AI will always try to use all of its moves before attacking which explains why it didn't stop after first move. The reason it attacked Citizen instead of the Stalwart is internal implementation magic. It's impossible to determine which unit will be attacked when there is more than one standing next to an enemy.

I will reveal more details about that in the following days :).

Edit: The bug was referring to TSS Demo
