Here's a little toy I've thrown together over the last couple of weeks. Think Chronotron in DROD.

Every time you enter a room, the game will record 150 of your moves from that entrance. Each time you re-enter that room, a duplicate will playback all the moves that you had recorded before. Imagine several duplicates working together to exit the room! Learn to cooperate with yourself!

Please let me know of any glaring issues you find. Yes, I know turn-order makes this imperfect, but I still think it's pretty solid. When you disrupt a duplicate, they will stand still - this is by design!

I hope to expand on this in the future (it's only two rooms right now), but for the time being I'd love for your feedback! Thanks!

Edit: See post below for latest hold file.

Is it possible to make it so is you abstract one of your clones path you will have to restart. If it is possible than it would be nice if you did that :D Also the fact that you can only have a certain amount of clones make it more difficult than the real game. I love it!

I made my own level set. Only has one room.

Wow. Pure genius.
Probably too much to wrap my brains around though.

Would you mind putting a checkpoint between the first and second puzzles?

EDIT: All done! This turned out to be a very interesting idea once I got the hang of it. It looked like maybe I'd have to be careful about counting turns, but sloppy "long" waits or "short" waits worked just fine.

That was the most advanced scripting I've seen in a loooong time, perhaps even ever. Of course I can't judge without seeing the script, but I don't mind. Keep me in awe of the many puzzles that could be made with that.

I spent some more time with this concept this weekend and overhauled the scripting. It has been redone to eliminate the problems caused by turn order. The last clone you created will always have turn order precedence over every other clone. It may not seem like much, but this is a coup for the project!

The hold is anyone edit. The system currently supports only six entrances, and the turn record limit is still 150, but those can both be expanded. The level is otherwise unchanged, apart from some additional checkpoints.

Things I want in the next versions of DROD:

-Arrays
-Variables that exist only in the room in which they were created, but still persist when exiting and returning to the room
-DROD RPG _MyScript variables
-Direct control of turn order through variables
