Allright, it might suck, but it is at least unusual! So, in each room there must be variables, and they must do something! No orbs are allowed directly, i.e.player cant activate them, only npc's can. And they ofcourse must have variables.
Winner will be determined via public poll in November.

So if I make a room, place an exit staircase and an npc, who initializes variable x to 0... I can participate? And win while I'm at it??

What ARE we required to make?

told ya, variables must do smth. Open doors, make people walk around, let player switch role, allow them acess new level. Whatever. The more complex var system is, the more it fits here.

Maybe the contest parameters need to be more defined. Perhaps this:
- Each entry is a one level hold with five or six rooms.
- A global variable is to be used to track the number of times some common or semi-common event happens (such as sword rotation, tarstuff cut, stepping along the N-S axis, etc).
- The exit stairs are sealed by two doors, a blue door and a yellow door which opens only if the global variable is less than some predetermined value.

Or greater. Whether it's open should be based on one or more conditions, not necessarily a single variable being less than a certain value (although that is a good idea).

Don't forget that it also can be equal.

Can you compare two variables? I never could figure that one out...

the only way I can think of to do it would be doing it brainfuck-style. While that works, it's a pain.

All you have to do is use the equals test for the first variable, and input the name of the second variable (sans $'s) in the equality field.

Yeah, there's a reason that field is not just numeric despite the "Text" field.
