Re: Ray Gun for Beethro (0)
Alright, ladies and germs, I have a brillian idea that will save this thread from being taken entirely as a joke: Leapers. Not lepers.
The Leaper moves as many times in one direction as there are other monsters on the screen. If there are more than 38 other monsters on the screen, it loops around the edge as if it were a mini-globe. Further behaviour is as follows (assume the word other is applied in all cases):
If there is one monster, and it is a roach, the leaper moves north.
If there is one monster, and it is a goblin, the leaper moves south.
If there is one monster, and it is a spider, the leaper moves west.
If there is one monster, and it is anything else, the leaper moves east.
If there are two monsters, and they're the same, the Leaper will go in the direction indicated above.
If there are two monsters and they're different, and the directions they would cause are within 90 degrees of each other, the Leaper moves in the clockwise-most direction.
If there are two monsters and they're different, and the directions they would cause are opposite each other, the Leaper goes north.
If there are more than two monsters, and they're all the same, the Leaper will go in the direction indicated above.
If there are more than two monsters, and there are more of one than of each of the others, the Leaper will go in the direction indicated above.
If there are more than two monsters, and two or three of the categories above have an equal number of monsters, the Leaper moves in the counter-clockwise-most direction.
If there are more than two monsters, and an equal number of each of them, the Leaper will go south.
If there is stable tar in the room, the leaper turns its trajectory 45 degrees clockwise.
If there are trapdoors in the room, the leaper turns its trajectory 45 degrees counter-clockwise once for each trapdoor.
If there are orbs in the room, the trajectory reverses once per orb.
If there is another Leaper in the room, the Leaper automatically picks the direction that will land it closest to the Leaper furthest away (as a straight line), overriding all other rules.
When a Leaper is killed, the monster placed last in the room becomes another Leaper, which means if a Leaper starts in the room, a Leaper will be the last monster to die.
Finally, if the Leaper is the only monster left in the room, it becomes dejected and just sits there, until Beethro gets within 3 squares of it. When Beethro is withing 3 squares, it will turn once each turn until it's facing Beethro, at which point it will shoot Acid directly at Beethro and kill him instantly.
What do you all think? Wouldn't this be cool?
