Anyone else noticed pain especially in the left arm (the sword arm) after days of playing DROD?
Good that i am back at work now and have time for recovery.

I use control + Q. Plus, I shift positions. This tends to eliminate the pain, and thus allow me to play DROD much longer than you puny mortals. :)

I use the right control and the shift button right above it. I have tennis fingers in my left hand from using just two fingers to swing the sword. I use the number keypad for moving so my right hand has a bad case of tennis fingers, using all my fingers to move Beethro around. :ill :stretcher

So i am not the only one.
About the hack'n'slash rooms - wouldn't it be comfortable to have two special slash keys:
"E": It's as if you press "Q" then "W". Q-W-Q-W-Q-W-...
"R": like "W" then "Q".

That's what control + Q does - it does a Q, then a W. Holding that down makes Beethro hack away at the monsters really really fast. Similarly, control + W does a W then a Q.

Oddly enough, I get a pain on my scalp when I play, accompanied by excessive, patchy hair-loss. Also bizarre is how the severity of the pain seems to have a direct relation to the difficulty of the hold. Go figure. ;)

DROD:TCB (3.0) will feature a user-mappable battle key (a single key to do opposite of last command). This should help with the tennis fingers.

Just to deflect potential worry, the battle key will come in addition to the current CTRL+key macros, not instead of them.

So it's kind of a half-speed version of CTRL-<whatever> in that you have to press it twice for the same effect? (Not that I'm complaining - sometimes you'd really like that last whack to be a half-whack... :))

Also, what will it do if your last action was a wait? ;)

It's half-speed, yes, but it's also a single button which you can just press continuously. Some people find pressing two buttons at once for a sustained amount of time painful.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think it doesn't do anything after a wait (or maybe it just waits again). It doesn't mimic CTRL-5, that's certain.

CTRL-Q is holding down two buttons continuously... have we gotten so lazy as to only hold down one button then? ;)

Ah well. I'm not going to be the one to ask Mike Rimer to remove a feature.

In holds that have potential for DROD fingers, i usually use both hands, and batter the Q and W keys as fast as i can, usually ranging from 2-4 swings per sec.

May i inqure as to what Ctrl Q does?

Control Q does a Q then a W. Holding it down does this over and over again - useful for hack and slash rooms once you've gotten into a safe spot.

I think this condition should be named 'DROD fingers' instead of 'tennis fingers'. Unless someone can think of a related word that rhymes with 'fingers'.
