The maximum is a very large number that Schik gave all the mods (and Eytan, apparently) so that we could easily keep the mod point economy in supply. There's no way it would be possible for someone to get it without hacking or having an admin do it...

Game on,

As far as I know of, excluding the current moderators, there would be about four other people, possibly five, with a seemingly endless supply of mod points.

That's quite wrong.

FAQ wrote: Moderators are users we've come to respect and love who get unlimited mod points.

Am I the only one here who realizes that Eytan and Patrick are both considered moderators?

The definition is incorrect; Eytan and Patrick don't have moderator powers. The FAQ is a bit too simplistic in this regard...but does it really have to be that specific?

They say every time someone begs for points and gets them, a puppy gets eaten somewhere. Without ketchup. (They don't say where, but I suspect Korea)

Just you wait! The puppies will not go unavenged forever!

All right, all right, easy mod points to people who make me smile with their answer to:

What is the single greatest thing that anyone has ever done with chewing gum and a paperclip?

Ah, that would be The Paperclip Tower.
Standing an inch high in a gummy foundation.
How much greater can it get.

Well, let's see, I made a sword out of the paperclip and left the chewed gum as it is to make my most famous sculpture named "Beethro conquers the room after slaying just one brain, and it takes little time. Then he leaves."
