I played DROD up to level 15 a year or two ago, but found this level so annoying that I quit playing the game and never got back into it. After getting a new computer and thus losing my old save, I decided to play through again, and I have just gotten to level 15. What I would like to know is the best order in which to go through the rooms so that I have to do minimal backtracking and repeating of stupid trapdoor puzzles and will be much less likely to quit again in sheer annoyance. Thank you. =)

Well, when you make a post, there is an Insert DROD Room image link on the right-hand side, over the smilies. Click on that and select King Dugan's Dungeon and you can see the map for the entire level...and you can use that to plot out your path. I think you can get through the entire level in one shot unless you go for the hidden room, in which case you'll have to replay some rooms.

But this is how I would do it: Entrance, 1W, 1N 1W, 1N 2W, 1N 3W, backtrack to 1S 1W through 1N 2W, 2W, and 1W (but don't solve 2W yet), 1S 2W, 2W, 3W, 1S 3W, 1S 4W (exit). You shouldn't have to completely re-solve any rooms that way, but there is backtracking through rooms with green doors.

Alternately, there's a warp room in level 12 that might let you skip directly to level 16, I can't remember exactly which levels it goes to.

Game on,

Levels 14 and 16 can be reached via this warp room, among others (you can also go back to previous levels, but I doubt *that* interests you). So, you can run away from both levels 13 and 15, if you so choose. I know I very much hate level 15.

It's 9 plus/minus 5, 6, or 7. It goes to 2, 3, 4, 14, 15, and 16. So yes, you can skip it.

Level 15 was the last one I did. In fact, I personally discovered all of the warp rooms and did levels 5-6 and 13-15 after. About Level 15: I DISLIKED IT WITH A STRONG PASSION!

Level 15 was probably my favorite level in KDD; while one of the hardest and most frustrating it really made me appreciate the architects and i got much satisfaction when i finally finished it.

KDD2.0 was the first time I actually sucessfully completed Level 15. Before that, the Northwest-most room was the room that had annoyed me and forced me to warp.

And actually, to tell the truth, I haven't completed Level 18 in JtRH yet. Oh the shame, I know.
