Okay, I have a general idea of what to do. Clarifying through this happy picture...

I know I'm completly missing something totally obvious, but I'm sure that there are people who know this room much better than I do.

Why does the computer keep telling me to come back when I've explored the room, when inactuality I have it on my own screen?, an how exactly does the automated answer know what room I've reached or not? Huuum!

Rooted Hold, and a few other holds, hide all the rooms you have not explored: a CaravelNet suscription is necessary for the "have you seen this room yet?" check to work.

I think the game uploads the list of rooms you've visited every time you come back to the main menu, while connected to CaravelNet.

Get Halph to open all the doors. Then worry about killing the mothers before the tar outside forms a baby.

Grr ... argh.
Ignoring all the mothers till I've got Halph to open the doors (ie. starting to kill them once Halph is on his way to the last), I'm still a full spawn and half behind. I've tried taking out the bottom mother during the door opening steps too, with little difference.

What am I missing? :?

You need to almost always have Halph moving. If he's just hanging around, you're not being efficient enough.

Take a look at this - I admit it's not completely optimal, but it still seems that I'm a while away from killing the last mother before the final spawn creates a baby at the top.

From there on it shouldn't be too hard...

Might be a spoiler - cause I didn't see any one mention that...

yet and still I find myself can't solve it, and I realy don't remember how I did it the last time, but- a little demo that I found shows that it was easyer then the secret room.
I tried meny ways but still can't make it on time.

I add demo of my best shots.

What can you tell me about it?
Pleas. :blush

P.S - I don't think that what 'tonyk' suggest is relevant to this room, and if it is so I can't see it work. -_-

There's a thread about the secret room over here. You should be able to read that even though you can't search for it or view room images without a CaravelNet subscription.

Note: the secret room isn't 100% the same as 1N.

I solved this room and was very pleased with myself about how quickly I had done so, only to get 13th place. Hrmph. Then I downloaded the best solution for this room and watched it. I have one hint of my own about how to solve this room faster, I learned one hint from the fastest demo, and I have one question about something seemingly impossible from the fastest demo.

My hint about how to go faster, which may be obvious to everyone who has made it this far into the game:

A hint I learned from watching the fastest solution:

Here's something I saw done in the fastest demo but I have no idea how to replicate it. It's a mystery, please help me solve it:

When you kill all the tar mothers and associated tar babies, you will have noticed that the green door is dropped. Now, if you create another tar baby, you will notice that the room turns red again.

Now for some reason, if you, one you have exited the room via the passage that was blocked by the green door, and immediately head back, you will see that you are now standing on the green door.

However, in this particular room, entering on the green door doesn't actually help do things faster.

Wait, never mind, it could.

I am, yet again, in awe of how sneaky people are to squeeze out tiny yet undeniable efficiencies. Thanks for explaining this trick, I don't think I ever would have thought of this on my own!

Gah...
Pulling my hair out over this one. :~(
I'd really appreciate a demo of how to get Halph to all 4 orbs and then kill the 4 tar mothers in time.

There are lots of good hints for this room. I've tried to collect and organise them in a more helpful way. Hopefully, you can do this without a demo :)

You've got to beat two timers in this room.

First, Halph has to get to all the orbs before his path is blocked by the growing tar.

Second, Beethro has to kill all the tar mothers before a tar baby forms on the orange tile.

Thanks, but I don't have a CaravelNet subscription.
Any way you could tell me what number goes with which mother? :~(
