I think version 1.2.2 had the special command not working. I've uploaded a 1.2.3 patch to fix that regression.

More bug fixes forthcoming.

There is now a release candidate build (RCB) available at the bottom of the thread for testing.

Please see included changelog.txt for full list of changes.

Have knocked off several more bugs quickly, and I'll post an updated patch for validation soon.

Skell, I've reassigned ~25 bug reports that you had assigned to you back to myself. I plan to try to address these over the next several days while GatEB 5.0 is being completed. If you'd like to work on any of these in the immediate future, you're welcome to reassign them back to yourself.

I see no reason reason why your high scores won't be accepted, unless a bug is found that allows someone to achieve an otherwise impossible score, in which case I imagine those scores would be manually removed if it can be proven they are impossible to match or beat. I am unaware of any bugs that could cause this.

Bear in mind that right now the RPG spider appears to be off, presumably so Schik's Neatherhood score hangs around without the spider deleting it so it can be investigated why scores aren't working for that hold. I can see your scores on the Castle Repton high score pages sitting ready for verification, the spider just hasn't been allowed to get around to them yet. The My Scores page also says there's a bunch of scores in the queue.

I'm basing this off the fact that I have submitted scores in all beta versions so far and have had no issues (barring the pre-existing server verification issues, of course)

Edit: Obviously this is down to Mike and Schik and I can't speak on behalf of them. If they want to prevent old betas from working once the spider is turned back on then that is up to them. Personally if it were up to me I'd still allow them until 1.2.3 is finalised and fully released, at which point I'd clear down then spider queue and then going forward disallow scores from older versions, mainly as a precaution because so many bugs are being fixed for 1.2.3.

Another RCB with these fixes.

* Some marquee notification texts on the Title Screen were displaying with a black background.
* Fixes a combat damage projection regression introduced in previous build (in rev 145).
* Fixed: Now right-clicking a custom accessory in the room will properly show its name.

If these issues are confirmed fixed and no other regressions are found, I'll officially release 1.2.3 this week.

Thanks for verifying these issues, Kieran! Looks like we're in a much better state than we've ever been with DROD RPG, and now we're ready to release 1.2.3!

I'll start preparing official Windows and OS X builds. I expect to have them up sometime this week. I'll ping trick to prepare Linux builds.

If there are any residual issues found at that point, we can start working on fixing them (plus any issues still outstanding) as part of a future 1.2.4 patch (or a replacement 1.2.3 patch, if it's anything serious).

Based on reported issues, we have a few more minor fixes to verify. Also, I'm including a "Build Tiles" script command fix for cropping parameterized coordinates correctly to the room region. What this change allows is building to, say, an area like (-1,-1,2,2) and it should correctly build an item only at (0,0). This fix is also being added to 5.1 and shouldn't wait till a new version, so I'm releasing a new 1.2.3.165 patch.

Looks fine to me; played the first couple of rooms in Tendry's Tale (demo) with no problem.

Another patch (rev 199). Should provide a percentage instead of a ranking at score points, plus some stability fixes.

This might very well be the last one before the Steam release (uploading a new Steam build pending).
