I am at a total loss here. I need to know the timing and order to
step on the plates and when to open the eye. A demo would sure help.

I do recommend Alex Diener's walkthrough in general, and in specific for this room: it's pretty close to a demo.

Episode 23 - Temporal Anomaly - 1 North (That's 8m32s into the clip)

To find other rooms, use the playlist which generally names the level being solved, then you can use the scrubbing feature within youtube to scrub along the timeline till you see the room you are after.

A bonus is that Alex is good at explaining his thinking, and doesn't usually get frustrated.

Thank you both for your help. I did check out Alex's walkthrough which I believe
will prove to be of great help in the future. But for this room I get a picture
that quickly changes and he moves on to the next room. I am trying to figure out
if it is something wrong on my end.

Also I am unable to see how to step on the plates and awaken the eye all on the
same move. :(

My usual trick for synchronisation is:
- Get to the position immediately before what I want to do (step on a plate / stab something / etc.).
- Press Ctrl-5 a few times (depending on how many turns I think I need for each subsequent clone).
- Undo once.
- Step on the plate / stab the thing / etc.

What that means is that with your second clone you can get into position, press Ctrl-5 until the first clone does the thing, then just undo one turn and do whatever needs to be done on the same turn. It's less efficient in terms of move count, but it means you don't need to count moves exactly for the synchronisation.

I sure do appreciate the help I have received here. I conquered
the room!!!
I would like to lay claim to being the oldest person to have ever
done so. I will be 85 this year. Are there any players out there
who can beat that?

Wow, you must remember the world before the last turning!

I can't compete with you, but I'm fairly sure I'm older than the mean age here: I certainly regard DROD as a way of keeping my aging mind sharp. I also use Lumosity, but it's not as much fun as DROD.

The was a character called wiseoldman a few years back who might be able to spar with you, but he's not been active for awhile.

Do you know how difficult this room is? This is likely the most difficult room in the entire hold.

Actually, this is a warm-up. The entire rest of the level is harder. The next two levels after Temporal Anomaly are both harder than it. And there's a much harder temporal projection level later on (though it is optional). And don't get me started on the constructs levels....
