I 'm having a brain collapse on this room I use the passages to get gaurds away from doors hit orb I can kill two gaurds buts thats it. The gaurds can move on the blue area while i'm stuck only gray area is this a bug or design?

As for the second question, that will be answered for you soon enough in the game, it's not a bug. (It was also demonstrated in the room to the west of this one)
