icon Copyright Question Relating to Screenshots (0)
Hi! I am currently working on a new hold and I would like to use custom graphics in the hold. I need images of huts, and thought of the huts that come in TCB (the goblin ones). So would it be a copyright infrigment if I took a screenshot of the huts, copied it into Microsoft Paint (and save it as png), and use them as custom pits/walls/floor in my hold?

If it is an infrigment, is there a way to obtain the graphics legally?

Thanks for any answers. :)

Why not use a level theme that has goblin huts?

Otherwise, e-mailificate the person who owns the graphics and ask them.

I would expect that what you describe would almost definitely be copyright infringement. You're copying copyrighted graphics -- the fact that you do it as a screenshot as opposed to simply using the files directly doesn't get you around the copyright.

As hyperme noted, it would be a much better choice to request permission to use the graphics in question.

Um, but why do any of that, rather just placing actual goblin huts (the obstacle accessible in the third tab, 4th column, 3rd row in the level editor)?

OK, that point had already been made, but seriously: huh?

I need to use them as custom floors and pits, but it seems this is still a copyright infrigment, so who can I e-mail to have premission to use the graphics?

Well, it used to be that the way to do this was to PM CuriousShyRabbit to ask for permission. She's been mostly inactive for a while, so not sure if that's still the way to go. I would probably send her and mrimer PMs explaining what you wish to do and asking permission. Ultimately, permission devolves from mrimer.

Sure, just send me a PM with the same description as above of what you'd like to include.
